Sentinel reports that MyMagic+ executive vice president Nick Franklin will be leaving in July

This part of the discussion seems to indicate next gen could be working. By getting the small charges on my magic band and all the fees they would pay if the charges were separate going with my room it allows them lower fees from the credit card transactions. In my case it won't add anything to sales because I buy what I want when I am on vacation and don't worry about it. So it cones full circle and while many hate the fast pass plus those who understand the credit card fees that Disney saves and the increase spending understand it's good for Disney and will improve the bottom line.

True enough, if Disney could combine a weeks worth of charges from a guest into a single transaction that would indeed save them money.

See now I have to break out my voodoo dolls and stick a needle in it's butt, hope it hurts!
Ow! And here I didn't even mention my interchange station linking up to I-drive, Sun-rail, then on to MCO baby! ;)

on-topic:
I felt a surge of happiness when I first read about this, but after reflecting Franklin seems like a scapegoat, or at very least NGE was dropped in his lap. This guy did not devise NextGen, likely had little to do with perpetrating it on us. Just an overseer of chaos. Inheriting someone else's "technological terror", it cannot be good times.
Heads should roll but it seems like this is not the PowerPoint Droid we were looking for...

His ego is hurt but I bet he is not reduced to eating Top Ramen for dinner due to money issues :)

Heck I would rather have his position for 1 year than never at all!

Eventually... The parks are better equipped for advanced reservations and Fastpass+ than Disney world, but they have a more vocal fan base.

I sure hope this MM+ thing is deemed a total failure and abandoned before Disneyland blows what high standing they have again with their locals and try to go down the "get guests to spend more money wearing a wristband" business model.

I'm sure that is all wishful thinking...

Why is a simple band you have the choice of wearing or not such a big deal? I don't think FP+ is needed at all (much like I don't believe FP is needed period, really) and I know many don't like the idea of their personal information on the band, but it's not that different from the card. I think it's just mostly out of habit that people resist the magic band. Believe me, I wanted to dislike it, but it was actually really hard to.

What information are you finding to be wrong? When I visit the parks, I find the info in the app to be a lot more accurate than the non-Disney apps.

Wait times, character meets.

Plus the system crashed on Sunday, rendering it useless to make any reservations.

I don't use the non-Disney apps because they're either estimates or crowd sourced info.

The wait times are directly from the tip board system, what it says, the app says, so when that's wrong, it really isn't the app's fault. I know enough about the character meet times to know that the only time the app would be wrong is if the character peeps change their sets on the same day, which even when that is the case, it usually is able to get updated in time. Can't speak much to the reservations, never used them.

Just curious, why are you defending this?

Mostly because I don't have the time nor the inclination to sit here and have a debate about a really slow loading, piece of detritus application that does not work correctly…

iOS. It appears to be loading HTML pages inside and iOS shell.

That's what it seems to be doing… It takes for ever to load anything. It's not my connection speed.

My main complaints are that I'm constantly having to reenter my password to look at my plans throughout the day and it takes for ever to load my plans for the day.

So if there's any developers on the team for this application, I'll be more than happy to sit down at celebration town Tavern and have a beer and tell you exactly what my issues with this are because it will take a lot more time then explaining it on a message board.
