Sending mail to my resort?

2 days before I leave I was gonna mail a box to All Star Sports. I wanted to pack some breakfast stuff in there and some other snacks for early morning, and late night munchies. I CAN do this right? The resort will look my name up and take it to my room or call me...correct?

Make sure to address it to the name that the reservation is under, and also include your check-in date.

There was talk about some resorts charging (or looking into charging) for accepting the package, but I don't know any specifics about that. I seem to think it was only Deluxes or convention resorts.

If you send it early enough, you can ask for the package at the front desk when you check in.

During one of my stays, my office sent me a package at the resort. I stopped at the front desk when we got back from the parks to pick it up.

I then stopped by the next day (with a prepaid mailer) and sent it back to the office.

Hope that helps.

Cool. Im gonna send it Priority a day or 2 before I leave so it gets there the day after we do. We get in at night so the next day is when I can pick it up. I figure i can mail all that stuff down there for like $5-$8 as opposed to trying to pack everything...

I would advise using UPS or FedEx instead of the Postal Service. Here's why: if you use the Postal Service, the package will go to a sorting center before going to your resort. This will obviously delay it getting to you, and the resort may charge you a $5 or $10 fee when you retrieve it. I have sent a box of stuff to myself ahead of my arrival about 4 times, and I've always used UPS. I can track the package online and know exactly when it gets there. I time it so it arrives 2-3 days before I do, so I get it when I check in. Make sure you put on the shipping slip your name, reservation number, and arrival date. HTH.

We used gardengrocer last year. They deliver right to the hotel. We had them bring wine, beer, case of water, breakfast food, late night munchies, park snacks, and freeze dried coffee. You just schedule a delivery time. Our food was at the bell desk upon our arrival and when we wheeled it out the crowd ooohd and ahhhd over the beer and wine.

Ditto on the UPS or FedEx.

I sent a package UPS last May and when we checked in, there was a note on our reservation that we had a package & she got it for us. I will definately do this for future trips, it worked out great.

They won't take it to your room, and they probably won't call you - unless you've already checked in and then they'll call your room and notify you of a package at the front desk.

As others said, use UPS or FedEx. And feel free to have it get there the day you arrive. You still have to check-in and it will be there for you to get right away.

I wasnt expecting them to call me. I just wanted to send it there. If I send it prioraty mail it will be there in 2-3 days. I work for UPS and it will be like $5-$10 to mail it postal...and $20-$30 for UPS. I work for UPS. The rates are insane.

But like I said before, if you send it Priority Mail, you will likely be charged $5-10 by Disney as a processing fee. The postal service does not deliver to the resorts directly; they use the convention center's processing center. So that fee will negate most of your savings. Don't you get a discount for working at UPS? I've used UPS each time to mail a box to Disney and it's always been $13-15. Use whomever you want.. but don't come back and complain that Disney charged you $10 to pick up your box at the resort. :)

Okay I see what youre saying now. I misread it before. And NO no discounts on shipping for employees.

I would call them first and of couse send it so it arrives before you leave so you can make sure it is there when you arrive. I am sure it will be fine, but me I always like to make sure and not expect things to go perfect, know what I mean. I was planning myself I mailing my costumes down (that is if I am in the mood to dress up for MNSSHP) and then I won't have to pack em in my carry on with me. :) take care now. :sohappy:

Yeah I just dont want to have to pay insane prices for breakfast and late night snacks!

Ahhh...why didn't you say so. All you have to do is this. 1) Purchase 25 pretzel ovens (see below).

240_Pretzel_Oven.jpg

2) Purchase all the necessary ingredients for making hundreds of pretzels

SoftPretzels01.jpg

3) Purchase some cutting boards, rolling pins, etc.

4) Plan your detailed itinerary

5) Anticipate the times you'll like be hungry and

6) Have the resort set up your pretzel making equipment at the anticipated locations. For example, perhaps you'll be near the The Living Seas at 11AM on Tuesday and 11AM is a common snacking time for you. Just mail a pretzel oven, ingredients, and appropriate supplies to EPCOT and have them place the said items at some convenient location near the entrance to the pavilion. Then, all you have to do is find an outlet for the oven, prepare, and cook your pretzels. Voila. Cheap and easy snack.

Of course, if you don't like pretzels this idea could be modified and used for say, gooseberry pie, antipasto, or lemon tarts.

Sent a box down by UPS yesterday. I will call in a few days to make sure it got there, Coronado Springs. Even though we have the free dining this year, we shipped mostly breakfast items. Box weighed 24lbs, wonder what else my wife sent?:ROFLOL:We did the same last year. I had my name, reservation number and arrival day and approximate time. No problems what so ever. They did not charge us to hold it.
