Ah, yes -- the park nicknamed by many as "Fake Disney World," "Disneyfraud," etc, shall soon be no more. The latest newsletter of the American Coaster Enthusiasts (those fanboys you always see on roller coaster TV specials) reports that Nara Dreamland will close down at the end of August 2006. The park had been up and running for some 45 years (which would put it about five years after the opening of Disneyland). Coaster freaks loved it for the "best woodie (wooden roller coaster) in Japan," modeled after the famed Coney Island Cyclone. But here at WDWMagic, we all remember it for being an unabashed Disneyland ripoff...

Fare-the-well, Nara Dreamland. Fare-the-well, mighty warrior. :lookaroun

Buy it Disney! BUY IT!

Then call it "Disneyland...with lower standards!"

How about "Presslerland" decdicated to the life and legacy of Paul Pressler. This park embodies his true vision on how Disneyland should have really have been done in Pressler's vision.

The ACE newsletter mentioned this -- they said that due to the stringent seismicity codes over there, it'd be very unlikely anything could be easily saved (IE - moved elsewhere).

wow, that is surreal. From the first pictures of the approach to the park I thought it was actually going to be a quality park. The view of the trainstation was wonderful, the view down main street towards the castle was beautiful, then it all just fell apart.

Weird.

That's not the only Disney clone in the world. I've seen others that have clones of SSE, the castle, etc.. in them.

Disney should buy it and make it a year round scary twilight zone, halloween type park. call it RIP OFF LAND, Heck they could even charge 65 bucks for it since it's an all day event. :D lol I kill myself.
