I do too! They sit on top of my computer desk with several other pairs (like my Year of A Million Dream pair) which is why I recognized them. :D

I never scored a pair of the YOAMD ears. Never was that lucky.... wasnt living here during that promotion either.

And those Gold Mickey Ears were fantastic.... perhaps they shall reappear in 2021?

The ironic thing? My YOAMD ears were won via the mail portion of the giveaway. I never won anything in WDW despite being there a dozen or so times during the promo. Furthering the irony? They are also Disneyland version. LOL I've never even been to DL.

Are they allowed in disney springs and in the resort hotels?
I don't know about Disney Springs, but we always pack ours on vacations. We did use it at the resort beach, balcony, and in the room.

A few months ago at home my son ran up to me, clearly distraught, and exclaimed "Mommy, our selfie stick is broken!!" I literally laughed out loud, he had a totally confused look on his face at my reaction, but it was just humorous to me to hear a 5 year old say that. Funny to think of things that weren't in our vocabulary when we were kids.lol

And I wish they still weren't. :(

It's fun though. We have some great candid photos of me, kid, and dog. I don't have a tripod, and even if I did I wouldn't set one up during movie and popcorn night, or on a kayak while on the river, or at a place where I want both of us and the background in the picture. So the selfie stick allows us to get photos that would otherwise be impossible.

That said, I am glad that amusement parks don't allow them.

Sorry, but after nearly being hit by a few of them wielded by narcissistic idiots, I don't consider them fun at all. Just weapons that can really hurt someone.

I agree with that. I mean how many pictures can someone take of themselves doing a duck face or shocked face.. Apparently too many these days. For me though I don't want my kid to grow up and only see photos of himself places..and trust we have a ton of those. The selfie stick has allowed us to be in photos together :)

No selfie sticks required for the poses you speak of. Which takes me on another rant: folk who make those faces, and then post those images as their avatar. I have nothing against not posting your own pic, but if you do - make it look something like what you look like. Everyone is going for a thin face, movie star type quality to their images, and it's just not them. A bit disturbing that folk don't like their own natural look.
