Where's the Tablet Photography vs Selfie Stick poll when you need it?!

I actually discussed this with fellow photogs...selfie sticks inched ahead of tablets as more annoying..but only because they are a danger to those around them. Honestly, I can IGNORE a tablet (sometimes not so easy), but im less inclined to ignore a stick to the face.
For me, it entirely depends on time of day. Tablets at night are the absolute worst.

I saw another member of this gang doing the same thing at the park up I-4 and did a 180 while talking and the man behind her had to dodge the weapon or take it in the face. She continued her conversation with no apology of course.
Again, the answer to this is to use your arms to protect yourself, and make sure you knock it out of their hand, hopefully breaking the phone. I have no patience for idiots that don't watch what they are doing. If she complains, tell her that you will be calling the police to file assault charges against her for hitting you with it. It could easily be defined as a deadly weapon as well.

Like Drax the Destroyer said in Guardians of the G, "Nothing goes over my head."

Yeah, they're basically all over the parks now. It can be kind of annoying, but most people seem to realize they space they need for it so they usually don't get in anyone's way. I just think they look funny with them, like the people using ipads as cameras. At that point isn't it easier to use basically anything else to take a picture?

Wait for the Food and Wine Festival later this year and you'll see a bunch. I have no doubt in my mind that the drunk people walking around World Showcase are going to get hit with one of these things and there will be a massive brawl.

The use of a selfie stick to take pictures of yourself is one thing, but on my trip to Disney last week, I saw multiple people using the Selfie Sticks to get a better angle for recording the shows/parades/fireworks. For the people behind you, it's a terrible obstruction, but personally, I think that is just a stupid idea because if you really wanted to see ANY Disney shows/parades/fireworks, you could find a video on YouTube that is probably shot from a better camera with better sound and a better angle. Experience the shows/parades/fireworks first hand while your there and don't worry about filming them. If you really want to watch them again, there are PLENTY of videos on YouTube. Now, the people using selfie sticks on rides is another thing. Only saw it once (on Splash Mountain), but still... just not safe...

I do like that (and I don't know how new this is) that they have a message before the shows (well, I at least remember hearing it before the Frozen show) that specifically says something about not obstructing views with your smart devices...
