Why?
Streamline the audition process to reduce the time performers will be away from their vacation. I'm not familiar with the process so I don't even know if this is possible.
Probably because they're having troubles getting enough contestants.
That wouldn't surprise me.I don't think it's possible. A friend of mine has been a contestant twice, and from her stories, they do everything as quickly as possible.
I think this would have been a great idea in DL/DCA with the amount of day trippers and whatnot, but asking folks to give up, in what my understanding is, half a day of your vacation doesn't seem plausible without some better reward than the chance to audition again.
Are there any prizes just for making it on stage?
See that's lame to me.If you win the final show, you get an "American Idol Fastpass" where you can skip the line during a real American Idol audition.
My gf made it to the show but didnt do it . 2 reasons
1. not everybody wants to sing infront of 1000 people
2. Not everybody cares about trying out for the real thing.
While its a good show for guests I think personally it was a waste of space.
See that's lame to me.
I think if they even offered a T-shirt or cap they would get more folks interested. There has to be an initial payout for time spent.
I would also like to add the song choice stinks.

And that isnt good enough. Honestly, most people probably just want to do it for "fun" not to really go through the agony of the real show. I know if I did it, I wouldnt want no fastpass for the real show, Id rather win some money or a free trip. The least they could do is give you some options for a prize, than maybe people would want to participate.
