Second audition entrance added to the American Idol Experience

Why not?

It seems they need to do one of two thing:

Streamline the audition process to reduce the time performers will be away from their vacation. I'm not familiar with the process so I don't even know if this is possible.

Or, scrap the concept and have paid performers in all the positions. It takes away the "reality" of the competition, but can provide a consistent show without having to worry about filling the holes.

I don't think it's possible. A friend of mine has been a contestant twice, and from her stories, they do everything as quickly as possible.

That wouldn't surprise me.

I think this would have been a great idea in DL/DCA with the amount of day trippers and whatnot, but asking folks to give up, in what my understanding is, half a day of your vacation doesn't seem plausible without some better reward than the chance to audition again.

Are there any prizes just for making it on stage?

If you win the final show, you get an "American Idol Fastpass" where you can skip the line during a real American Idol audition.

My gf made it to the show but didnt do it . 2 reasons

1. not everybody wants to sing infront of 1000 people

2. Not everybody cares about trying out for the real thing.

While its a good show for guests I think personally it was a waste of space.

See that's lame to me.

I think if they even offered a T-shirt or cap they would get more folks interested. There has to be an initial payout for time spent.

Heres a crazy idea but what if they scrap it and make it a new home for disney character meet and greets 2010 toontown plaza. of the ones that arent out and they cycle the toons. so its fresh every time. so no matter when you walk into the doors you will find possibly a new character to get a autograph and picture with past present and future toons. i think it would draw more crowds to be quite frankly.

So if I'm thinking right, this is just another AI audition "queue" that leads to the same entrance door as the original AI audition "queue?"

Yeah, it's got to be just for more people to notice it.
"What's that huge tacky temporary looking blue thing?!?"

You do notice it though!

I would be interested in auditioning but I'm too old for American Idol, so even if I win, I don't really win anything. In addition to the Golden ticket they should give out some kind of trophy and maybe a t-shirt or something to everybody who wins each stage. It wouldn't be that expensive to do and it would make it at least worth considering.

Right now the only reason I'd do it would be if I was just bored and wanted to sing in front of people that day. There's zero prize incentive for me to do so.

And that isnt good enough. Honestly, most people probably just want to do it for "fun" not to really go through the agony of the real show. I know if I did it, I wouldnt want no fastpass for the real show, Id rather win some money or a free trip. The least they could do is give you some options for a prize, than maybe people would want to participate.

Or, how about fastpasses to the rides at Disney's Hollywood Studios, since you have given up practically a whole day of "vacation time" to entertain the other Guests (it would cost them nothing / be an incentive to "waste a day" doing the show).
