My only complaint about college is that some professors actually reduce your grade for missing classes.

Uh....hello! I am paying for this BS!

Hello again everyone!

I agree! I hate having attendance policies in my classes. I do understand that a lot of students just won't go to class and only show up on the test days, but they are adults they should be able to choose to risk failing the class.

I actually agree. While I went to every class, b/c I felt I learned more by doing that, I still don't think it's fair for teachers to deduct from your grade if you don't come to class. If you get the work done that needs to get done, your grades will either show from you not showing up to class or you will have understood what you needed to know well enough to pass.

Joel called it a cow! :ROFLOL::ROFLOL:Actually, I'm just impressed she's getting sound out of it after only one practice.

Edit: 'it' meaning trumpet, of course.
Yeah...at first I didn't know what you were talking about...luckily I was reading about it from earlier today at the same time and put two and two together.

Buttoning. :lookaroun
eh...good point. It's a lot harder papers though. But then again, the teachers are essentially the ones who make them harder. So, the college ones are creating the work for themselves, with the first grade ones, while some of their work they create, some of it is created for them by the children. Never really thought of it that way.
yeah...I was curious about the same thing...:lookaroun

Even though I'm joining in late, I would agree too. After all, our tuition is helping to pay their salary - you'd think they'd be kissing up a little bit. :lookaroun

I once cut French for 3 weeks straight freshman year.....

 Naughty Fishy! I was more likely to do that when I wasn't signing the check myself. I had a friend that 'forgot' to go to his German final - and then the prof let him make it up because he was such a kiss-up. He was one of DH's roommates, I remember how ticked off DH was that he got away with it.

I still aced the class - it was so much easier than high school French.

That's one thing I'm worried about college.

My motivation level can be low in some situations, especially when it comes to school. I'm afraid I'll never show up to my classes because I have the choice to go or not. I know it's important and I'll end up going to most classes, but for those few that aren't that important...

Hi Rachel!

Hi Nicole!

That's where the whole being-responsible-on-your-own thing kicks in.
It sucks. :lookaroun

Hi Dot!

How are you today?

Busy. . .less than 2 weeks till the wedding now! Yikes!
How are you? Didn't you go to Cal Poly over the weekend, or did I get that wrong?

Oh I went to all my classes also, but some of my professors had insane attendence policies like miss two classes and you lose an entire grade level. Or some even said fail after 3. I find that ridiculous. I had one professor who almost failed me because my mom took me to WDW for my 21st birthday. I was gone a total of one week, which meant two of her classes.

Well maybe you will get some classes that require attendance. Although I think it is crap, lol!
Most of the time education classes require attendance. They figure if you are going to be a teacher you should be responsible to show up for class. Which is somewhat true, but I just don't like the restrictions.

I need to go mix up my meat loaf and do up some other dishes. I don't know how much I'll be around these next few days. I have two weeks before our book fair, and have stuff to get ready for the book fair as well. So the cleaning machine needs to get back into high gear. :hammer: I'll try to stop back in later after Abby gets home from tap class. TTFN!:kiss:
