What did you think?
I saw a friend (even if said person is a lowerclassmen...:lookaoun) reading it and remembered liking it.
Yup, freshman year.
Don't remember much about it....
Ditto.
Not so ditto.

I read it a long time ago and saw the movie "Charly" which was based on the book. I remember feeling so happy for him and then so sad when he started to rapidly regress. And I remember that people were mean to him. . .
A really good story, but sad.

I wasn't cheering the team, exactly.
I was just yaying for Joanna.
And for the record. . .I'm not much of a Philly fan. I love baseball and like football but it's hard to get your hopes up around here.

It's the curse of William Penn... which might get lifted if he buys it. :lookaroun

Ever since buildings were built higher than the statue of William Penn, the city has never won a championship. In the new Comcast Tower, they've placed a small statue of William Penn in one of the beams, hoping that will lift the curse.

I think I remember that when he was the janitor he thought people were his friends, but really they only liked to make fun of him. Then when he got smart he found that those same people had no use for him. Mean. I hate mean.
I sorta remember it now... such a sad story. :(

Really?
Can't hurt, I guess.

You remember correctly.
It's one of the most telling parts of the book...
