Seasonal passes

I've not been to Disney since Feb-2000. I am a FL resident but am working out of state at the moment. I and a friend of mine are going down in Oct (13-18) and I can't find anything on the seasonal pass. Do they still exist? I had a web site that was a Disney site that listed all the prices (Annual, Seasonal, Hopper, etc.) but that doesn't exist any longer. It also included the restaurants and info on them. Although my friend is not a FL resident I know the seasonal passes existed for non-residents as well, or so I remembered.

In any case, can anyone direct me.

Thanks

Daria

Keep in mind that the annual/seasonal passes are good for 1 year from PURCHASE date; it used to be 1 year from the first day you used it. If you don't renew it on or before the expiration date, it will cost more to buy a new one. It's a minor point, but still irritating. I used to be able to go almost 18 months without buying a new one, but not anymore!

Re: seasonal pass

Interesting news on the seasonal pass renewal. I can't believe they changed it from first time use to when purchased. After getting off the phone with Disney I am going for the 4-day hopper. My friend is not from FL and given the time we'll be there it won't be worth it to by a seasonal and annual for her. At least with the hopper it won't expire if we have days left, which we will.

Go to Disney.Com then Vacations at WDW..... Click on the state of Florida icon.... they will ask for your zip....it must be a FLORIDA zip so enter 33760... access to the seasonal ticket (available to Fla residents only) for prices..... Now the next question... Where are you going to get a Florida ID when you pick up the ticket at guest services?....they require one when exchanging the green voucher for the pass. Good luck.

Re: tickets

I am a Florida resident but my friend is not. I've had seasonal passes before and thought they were for anyone resident or not. Since I am working out of state at the moment and wouldn't be able to really take advance of the seasonal pass for myself, we just decided to buy 5-day hopper passes that never expire and use what we can.

I don't think very many people will be happy over the fact they have changed the 'rules' on sesaonal pass purchases though. I don't know why they would start counting the day it was purchased instead of the day it's first used.

Daria...
It wasn't just seasonal passes, it was annual passes too...sometime in July/August 2000 they changed the rules with no warning. So, if you were like me and renewed passes immediately, you stood to lose months of time on the passes before you visited again. And these SOBs sent me a letter to renew with NO mention of this change and tried to entice me with a discount if I renewed immediately. That discount isn't worth a damn if the clock starts ticking immediately on me. So now we buy the passes when we get to the park and time our vacations for the next year so we can still use the pass.

There was no way to interpret these changes in this manner other than total dishonesty. Shame on Disney for pulling this on their most loyal fans. They cannot possible offer me a valid explanation for this. They simply wanted to slip this change in with as little publicity as possible and with little protest. And you know what...they pulled it off.

I only mentioned the seasonal passes because that's all I buy, but apparently they pulled the same thing on annual passholders. I didn't notice the change until I exchanged my coupons for the actual passes at guest services in May, and they put a March 1 expiration date on them!

I agree with Tramp; this is no way to treat loyal customers. Even though I save money on the pass, I still stay in their hotels and buy food, souvenirs, etc at the parks.

Re:

Unbelievable that Disney would do this.....or is it. When I moved to Florida years ago I bought the seasonal pass and thought it to be the best because it suit my needs. I'm glad that I didn't renew given the fact that it's based on purchase date and not first use date. I wonder whose bright idea this was to irritate the local loyals. :(
