Sea World attendance drops 13%

I have not watched nor will I watch that Blackfish crap. I had dead cow for lunch today, had dead chicken yesterday. I wonder how many folks who cried at Blackfish had the some for of dead animal for lunch that day. Hypocritical is an understatement.

Without places like Seaworld showing Orca whales for what they are we would still be thinking they were this:

Orca is a terrible and campy movie that was just trying to capitalize on Jaws and make a quick buck. It is an awful movie but it is of the "so bad it's good" variety.

That "Blackfish crap" was a serious film about serious issues that few on the Sea World board wish to acknowledge. But hey, at least this thread brought some traffic back to a generally very quiet board.

I will stick with "crap" until I see it which I never will so.....

Sea World has down more to bring the concerns and issues about the oceans and it's denizens to the general public than all of it's critics combined. That is a fact that they never are credited with by many. They certainly have done more than the maker of this propaganda film.

You feel qualified to label a film you have not seen as crap and propaganda? That's a little ridiculous. No wait, that is completely ridiculous.

I know the type of film this is, call them documentary and in fact they are just propaganda pushing their view on the subject. No thanks. Blame M. Moore, his dribble on film ruined me on these types of crap.

Anyways I could care less what it says, can you or anyone else show me who has done more to bring information about sea life to the general population than Sea World? To kids no less where the future of the sea will be decided? When they can at least match that then they can talk poorly of Sea World IMO.

What a very predictable response.

Its pretty simple actually to label it propaganda without seeing it.

First lets looks at the definition of propaganda
information, esp. of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.

Looks likes we have a winner. How so? Well first we have two trainers that were in the film speaking out how what they said was mis quoted or mis used and not the whole story given. We also got a 69 point document now pointing out the 69 lies in the film and providing evidence to back it up. We also have Gabriella telling Bridgette the trainer if she was going to speak out to please do so AFTER the awards season. And then all the countless things Gabriella has said in her interviews just shows the bias and the propaganda nature of this film.

She must have learned film making from this guy

He does it the same way! The same complaints came out after many of his so called "documetaries" from people in them. People being misquoted, editing conversations to just the statements he wants and "loose" fact checking by him.

I watch a lot of documentaries, the only ones balanced and fair are on subjects decades old when the film is made. All or at least most of the bias is gone by then and a balanced film can be made.

Anyways I am still waiting for the name of who or what group has done more for sea life than Sea World. I won't hold my breath.....

Incorrect. Commenting on something without having seen it is the height of ignorance......and arrogance. But congrats 919. Your board is seeing some action again.

I refuse to give any of my money to the crazy so called director Gabriella. She will not see one penny of support from me. If I am aware what is in the film and can find the documents to prove they lied and misrepresented the truth I feel I can safely call it propaganda. One document pointing out 69 lies in a DOCUMENTARY is pretty big. Documentaries are supposed to be based on the truth. When you have people who were even in the film come out and put it down I feel its even easier to call this piece of junk what it really is. Its time to throw it away.

And considering the majority of her film was footage from youtube you can pretty much see everything without seeing this trash.

Do you have anything to say other than watch this film? You can't or won't give any other groups who do more than Sea World for sea life, you can't or won't dispute the information that her "film" is full of lies......all you seem to do is align with this film. I guess it was a life chaining movie for you :)

BTW if you have eaten anything that ever had feet in the last week for a meal then you are on pretty thin ice complaining about how animals might be treated at Sea World :)

I had chicken for lunch and cow for dinner, so I can't start trying to protect any of those critters at Sea World. That would be hypocritical of me.

You already said exactly the same thing on two other locked threads. Going for a third???

You give me a freaking headache. I'm a vegetarian so take your little thin ice criticism elsewhere. Even if i was the biggest meat eater in the world, that has NOTHING to do with Orcas in captivity. And by the way, this is supposed to be a thread about how Sea World has dropped in attendance, but all you guys wanna do is take it back to the Blackfish debate.

It was brought up in the thread early, I said I would not watch that crap. Days go by with nothing and then you come in and bring it up again. Check the thread, you are the one who started that fire again :)

Take a aspirin, I will wait :)

And yeah it does have something to do with Orcas. Killing and eating animals is OK with so many but putting one in a tank and feeding it is not. Kinda odd huh? I mean if I was a cow I much rather be in a pen on display than on a bun, but that's just me... and I am not a cow so.......

I guess asking for a better friend of sea life than Sea World agin would be pointless huh? As a pointy eared dude once said

So if a incredibly small percentage of Orcas have to live in captivity so that the vast majority of them are better understood and protected in the wild then I am 100% fine with that. Care to deny that is exactly what their captivity at Sea World has done?

Excuse me, Mr. Rewriter of History, but all you have to do is scroll up to see that Lazyboy first brought up Blackfish on this thread so don't tell me I did it. And you have a lot of nerve bringing up Star Trek considering that they did a free the whales movie.

If you're going to accuse others of not paying attention then maybe you should double check your statements.

Ok so first of all you already know my opinion on this topic and yet YOU still asked me how I could call it propaganda. So if I mentioned this in other threads before why did you feel the need to ask me again? And then you come back to me and say my answer is completely ridiculous. So I answer again backing up what I said.

I do not understand why the mods of this board still allow blackfish to be debated here. The other site I belong to has a beautiful SeaWorld forum and one of the rules is no bringing up blackfish or anything that causes an argument. That sure would be nice to have on this board. I feel rules should be laid out on this topic and that this forum should be for vacation planning and answering questions when people have them.

And before you bring up that this is a forum that the SeaWorld forum is so slow and has no action please keep in mind this is a Disney website .

That's great. Advocate for a third locked thread so this board can go back to radio silence once again. Clearly you guys on this particular board cannot handle dissenting opinions. It is just Sea World is perfect, or nothing.
