When we booked (like everyone else) our trip for Nov 29th we get buy 60 minutes and recieve 90 minutes of the sea raycers. We are thinking of doing this. We would have to rent two of them as we have two small children. What can you see and are they a must do? thanks

um.....you can see whatever you'd like around the 7 Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. So you can see the grounds of the Grand Floridian, the TTC, The Contemporary, the entrance to MK, The Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness, and the old site of Discovery Island.

They don't go very fast at all....

and they aren't really a "must do"

more like a, well I had some extra time....

Its fun I guess....the ones on 7 Seas Lagoon are more fun than the ones at CBR atleast.

I am assuming these are the little speedboats, right? I wouldn't call it a must-do.... but it is a nice extra to do if you have the time. There is a minimum age but I forget what it is and the kids are prohibited from driving the boats.. I rented one with my son(8) over at Yacht Club and my son loved it. They go faster over at Bay Lake....(I think 14 mph) while at the boardwalk lake they only go 8 mph. We rented for 1/2 hour and that was pretty much enough time for the boardwalk lake but Bay Lake being much larger may be a different story. Then again if the searacers are not the speedboats.... disregard the babbling.

We usually rent these when we go. They go fast if you are in it by yourself. I had to rent them before with my daughter and they still went fast enough but not if you were by yourself. I understand your children are small so they will need to go with you in the boat but they might still go fast. This past summer was the first time my daughter could drive by herself, she is 16 now. Anyway, we love them and it is just something extra you wouldn't think of doing at Disney. You should give them a try, they are fun and different! Have fun!

My 5 yo DD and I did this on our last trip and went out for 30 minutes and that was enough. They are fairly slow but it was neat to see the scenery. We went out of DTD and by Saratoga Springs down the canal. I'm glad we did it but not a must do IMO.

I've done them once and had an absolute BLAST!! There were 3 of us all in our 20's and we each had a boat and went all over Seven Seas and Bay Lake. I thought it was really cool to see everything from a different perspective. Make sure to wear sunscreen!!!

And I think they go pretty fast... if you go at full speed and turn sharply sometimes it feels like you're going to fall over!!

I rented a sea raycer from the Poly during our stay there last spring. Took my then almost 4 year old DD, who promptly fell asleep. I was good after about 20 minutes. I drove it over to WL and FL, then came back by MK and the GF and before heading back to the Poly. I think you would be bored silly riding around for 90 minutes. Which is probably why Disney offers the promotion.. so unsuspecting guests pay for 60 minutes, get 90 minutes, then realize they could have paid for only 30 minutes and still had plenty of time. JMHO, of course!

We rent them every time we go, of course our kids are older and can drive them by themselves. They always have fun racing around the lagoon and racing each other. Any time we all get together in WDW it is a "must do" for us. Partly because of the memories from past trips, and how much fun we all have with the boats keeps, us going back for more. I do agree that 30 minutes is enough. It is something that I would do with small kids and I am betting they would enjoy it.

We got that same coupon as well and rented them in September. We hopped on them at Fort Wilderness Lodge and had them for about 1/2 when we were waved back in by the guards. The woman working the window ended up giving us the rental for free! It seemed a lot faster than 15mph because I almost lost my hat on Bay Lake. Within the half hour we were able to see everything on both lakes.

We did them for the first time this trip and we had a lot of fun! The only regret is that we each should have rented one (it didn't go all that fast with two adults in it!) We got some great pictures of the Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge and Magic Kingdom. I agree that it's not particularly a " Must See" (especially if it's your first trip) but you have an hour or two to spare, I would definitly check it out! We rented ours at the Polynesian and enjoyed spending time wandering around the resort when we were done.

I usually try to rent one at least once on my summer trips. The MK area is the best place to rent. I think you will enjoy it and the young kids will probably love it since they won't care about the speed as much as the fun boat ride around the hotels and park.
