Great - glad to hear this, MK has looked likea Scrim/Construction Wall wonderland for so long now.
In an old video I saw in the background that a guy was painting a storefront on Main Street USA in an old school painters uniform, a small portion was being worked on with no scrim set up. They should have a couple handymen for each park that are payed by the hour tend to small repairs instantly to avoid bigger problems and big restorations

In an old video I saw in the background that a guy was painting a storefront on Main Street USA in an old school painters uniform, they were also doing some repair work out in the open with no scrims set up. I wish they would still work like that, anything to avoid the scrims on Main Street. A real town wouldn't have them over a store front.

That was just paint work though. This was rip all the wood off and put brand new wood on. They needed to do it due to the weather in Florida. Humidity isn't good to wood over time.

Exactly. They still do some painting and minor repair work out in the open (although there are people on here who say that is terrible and never happened in the past.) However this was far more than that. Without the scrims guests would have been seeing the buildings of main street down to bare steel and concrete.

So is MS-USA finished now, or are they going to get rid of the east alley and turn that side of the street into one long connected row of shops like what was done on the west side of Main Street? I thought there was talk of that happening

glad they're finished for the time being though, looks good "scrim-free"

I wouldn't see why they would cover the East Alley up with a new building when they just refurbed (or restored) it.

I'd like to see the entire main walkway ripped up and redone with brick like HKDL...it looks so much nicer than what we've got.
Agree 100%. Disneyland Paris also has a lovely brick/cobblestone main walkway (and includes the horse car track unlike HKDL). Would love to see that happen at WDW-
