Schoolhouse Rock Attraction?

My daughter and I were watching the Schoolhouse Rock DVD this weekend, and I got to thinking (a dangerous habit, I know) ... Now that Disney seems to control at least (some) of the rights to Schoolhouse Rock, would this make for a good attraction?

Schoolhouse Rock may cover too many topics for a single attraction, but I'm thinking it might work in Epcot. Perhaps an omnimover style ride through some of the more popular segments? I don't know, just throwing out some ideas.

So what's your opinion?

I love to watch the SHR stuff, they are great and very educational. But my one thought is: When has Disney ever built a ride on something educational?

Disney has never built anything educational? have you ever been to Epcot? They invented the term "edutainment"! Anyway, I always thought about a schoolhouse rock ride in Epcot, specifically the Wonders of Life pavillion, with the skeletons, and telegraph line, and the body machine, all of those. It would be pretty nifty. Or I thought that they could have the schoolhouse rock characters host the pavillions and possibly have a little ride in each for the young ones...

I think that would be a great"edutainment" ride a great addition to Epcot! I don't know where it would fit in best( I haven't watched it forever). But it definantly would be a great addition!

I must say...no!! I feel it is as effective as a TV/Film musical...but I wouldn't see it fitting - if anywhere, MGM. 'Wouldn't fit in EPCOT, AK, and especially the MK!! Maybe a temporary stage show at MGM...but I don't see it really fitting in. :(

AMEN on that Grizzlyhall. Long live Disney Edutainment! (Hey, I am an underpaid, overworked, unappreciated middle school teacher). I love to learn!

I can still recite the whole preamble to the Constitution because of SHR. Never mind that I have to sing it to do it, but the words are all there and I Am 37 years old now. I think the last time I saw that I was probably 12 or so!!! Talk about a lasting impact!! Belle

I mis-spoke on my last post and I must say I am sorry. When I think of "RIDES" I do not consider most of the EPCOT attractions. I consider them shows where your seat might move. To me the RIDES at WDW are more in the line of Space Mountain, Tower Of Terror, Splash Mountian, Test Track and so on. I do understand that Disney does Edutainment better than any other place. That is one of the reasons that I have been over 35 times and go back any chance that I get. I do say I am sorry for sounding like such a dork by my last comment.

Most of my friends and I passed the Constitution test in high school thanks to SHR! I could see SHR turned into a stage show at Disney Studios, since SHR was a touring stage show for awhile. Would the the obligatory gift shop after the show do well? Indubitably.

I saw SHR Live! (twice, actually) I loved it. I also bought the VHS series and just picked up the DVD. (I'm a 34 you single guy, but I'm a sucker for anything that's nostalgic for my childhood.)

As much as I loved SHR Live, I'm not sure that it's the best way to present SHR at WDW should Disney choose to do so. I'd much rather see them create interactive attractions or kiosks like the ones in Wonders of Life. Maybe with a couple of shows like Cranium Command, or even somesort of small scale "rides" for some segments. I think giving Imagineers the chance to be creative with EACH segment, would lead to a much more dynamic set of attractions, whereas trying to fit ALL the segments together neccissarily limits the scope of what they can do.
