Say My Name!!!

Does anyone have people mix up their name? On occasion, people call me Victor by accident. I guess it's the "V" thing. But they usually correct themselves. Well, till now. My professor keeps insisting on calling me Victor! My name is Vincent! VINCENT! He knows my name is Vincent, he's seen it enough times. But he keeps calling me Victor. Argh! It's gotten to a point where I've given up.

Prof: Victor
Vince: *sigh* Yes?

Today, he assigned us into these groups. I checked the assignments to see what group I was in, I didn't see my name anywhere. Then I looked closely and there was Victor. Dammit!

This was the actual convo between me and my partner.

Partner: Who's Victor?
Vince: I'm Victor.
Partner: I thought you were Vincent.
Vince: I'm both.
Partner:

GRRRRRR!!!!

I can empathize with you, Vic.

When someone misses my name it's always Steve. Maybe I run this forum and don't know it.

Steve. :brick: :brick: :brick:

I just hope no one will get me confused with the OTHER Joey on this board. Hmmm.... Meh, we have different screennames so it's allright.

Something that irritates me at school so badly: When people call me Jay-Dogg. I don't like that name as I think of myself as an outcast in school-ciety and I'm alright with this. I am incredibly lonely, I've made at least two good friends in school, and some of my friends I don't see at all because they either moved away or live out of town. At least I've made friends here online.

Think you got name issues? Check the last line of my sig. :lookaroun

(And, yes, I realize that it's somewhat optional in my case, but it's really tough to give up the nombre you've carried around since you were in diapers.)

I think your teacher is pronouncing your name in Spanish in which all those letters only have one way to be pronounced. :animwink:

You should tell him your name is Ariel! You´ll see how he remembers that!

My name is fairly simple...Lisa.

However, my late uncle used to call me Leeza (like Gibbons, but he called me this from birth! )

So, Victor...when he puts in your grades, who gets the mark..Vincent or Victor?

Hardly anyone calls me by the right name! I'm always being called "Kristen" or they pronounce my name "Kuhr-stin" (it's "Keer-stin") I even get Christine a lot. I'll respond to anything even close.

My SeaWorld nametag even has my name misspelled... which is just GREAT. So guests call me Kristen now. They put Kristen on my locker nameplate too, but that's no big deal cause all the other characters know what it's supposed to read, and no one else ever sees it but them.

Being one of those people cursed with three first names and going by my middle name most of my life, I have a difficult time answering to Joe or Joseph; James or Jimmy, but I do answer to Brian or my nickname Judd. That's what happens when you get Joseph Brian James stamped on your birth certificate. Of course, it is not uncommon for people to write 'Brain" instead of Brian.

Now, with the start of 'March Madness' I may not answer to anything since my attention will be glued to the T.V. or the Radio.

Most people spell my name wrong, but it's no big deal- I have bigger things to worry about.

If they said a completely different name altogether, or pronounced it wrong, I'm sure I wouldn't like it! And Kirsten, that's terrible that they have the wrong name on your nametag  There's a difference between spelling something wrong and changing it to a whole new name!

Don't call me Chris! :fork:

Although I like it when I'm chatting with somebody and they type too quickly and they call me "Christ" :lookaroun

In real life, mostly people say it correctly, but sometimes I'll get Chrissy, or the occasional Christine. No biggie, though.

Just don't call me Chris! :fork: (you won't get an answer ;) )
