Save the Adventurers Club

I'm so sad that I never got to visit the AC. Was it always 18+?

Yes, from Day 1 through closing, was 18+, unless accompanied by a parent/guardian.

i often saw kids there, but never after 9 PM.

Then you must not have gotten back there a lot in the final days. Kids in the Club were pretty rare (tho not unheard of) before the gates went down, but grew more and more common after that. By the final months, it had become some what of a hot-button issue, with the actors often openly mocking parents for keeping their kids out in a bar so late and some heated online discussions.

Actually, one of the more popular viral AdvClub videos involved my ex's 6-year-old son taking part in a Hoopla (Hoopla!).

Nowadays, it seems many parents are irrasponsible to the point that they will haul their kids most anywhere the parents want to be, however inappropriate. Such as Hooters....

Seriously, have you ever even been in Hooters? There isn't a whole heck of a lot to see and nothing that kids would even notice. Yet a restaurant like Texas Roadhouse where the girls are all in very lowrise jeans with bare mid-riffs gets no attention. I do have this sudden craving for some wings though.

I love hooters... the restaurant is pretty good, too.

But seriously, while it's certainly not family-oriented, I don't really see anything about it (other than maybe the outfits) that would make it inappropriate for a family. And they food is decent, they have probably my favorite wing sauce (parmesan-garlic!) out of any restaurant and delicious curly fries! Along with the fact that they have Pepsi instead of stupid freakin' Coke makes it my default bar/wings type place.

I understand that Hooters has recently up'd the risque factor on the girls attire. If you want GOOD wings, don't go to a Hooters..

Mmmm. Just got back from the Hooters on Kirkman. The wings were great as were the and thighs.

Seriously, nothing has changed. The girls still wear thick hose/tights and nothing up front is uncovered. I think the locally competing Wing House chain is a bit more risque'.

That is probably going to be a (positive) memory he has for the rest of his life, not to mention unique. Plus he'll always have a video of it. You can't buy that at the bibbidi bobbidi boutique. That's priceless if you ask me...

Ok, so many posters of this thread know my good friend "Right Guard" Ian, and that he has an extensive Adventurer's Club collection. Well, for his last birthday his friends, "Left Defenseless" D.J., Skipper Sarah, and Alan and Mandy Shanklemagic, asked themselves the question, what do you give to the Adventurer that has everything?" and they came to this conclusion, which "Right Guard" finally sent me pictures of. I'll try to recount the tale as well as he did for me:

Last Christmas, his friends in question told him, "'Right Guard' your Christmas present is awesome, it just hasn't been put together yet. It will be done in a week". Well, that week turned into, "'Right Guard', it's now your birthday present"! So when March finally rolled around, he was giddy with anticipation having no idea what was in store. They presented him with a package in brown paper wrappings

and with this note written upon it:

Then with the unwrapping, much to his amazement, "Right Guard" beheld this!

Yes my friends, "Right Guard" scored a custom, one-of-a-kind, Clue: Adventurers Club Edition game! Needless to say he was ecstatic as he flipped through the Weapons Cards:

The Room Cards:

and The Suspect Cards (featuring his favorite Hathaway Browne of all time!):

Then he beheld the sheer work of art that is the game board! (For you Clue aficionados the board is usually turned right 90° and the rooms are: Zebra Mezzanine as the Study, Colonel Critchlow Sutchbench as the Hall, The Gypsy Moth as the Lounge, The Library as the Dining Room, The Treasure Room as the Kitchen, The Patio as the Ball Room, The Mask Room as the Conservatory, The Bar as the Billiard Room, and Babylonia as the Library):

Now, the funny thing is, "Right Guard", myself and a few other conspirators had a Adventurers Club Clue game in the works before he was presented with this! That project is still in the works, and I'll let you know about that one, when it comes to fruition! Hopefully, one day when the Club reopens, we will get an official Disney version of Adventurers Club Clue, but until that time, just keep thinking, Who, Where and With What!

Nicely done, Master Gracey. But in terms of the rooms--no subbasement B with a tied-up Sutter Bestwick or unisex bathroom?

Don't blame me, all I did was get these pictures from "Right Guard"! You talk to his friends about that. Personally, I would like to have seen "Stall #3 in the Unisex Bathroom" since it is the biggest room in the club! However, these items may be rectified in the version "Right Guard", myself and a few others are working on!
