Save the Adventurers Club

Yes, there is a nice secluded area near Coranado Springs. A little swampy and overgrown but it could be just the place.

Or an adults resort with a PI type area where Flamingo Crossing was intended. That'd work.

That would be a good idea. An adult only, or at least adult-centered, resort. No kids stuff, not much Disney theming other than very subtly placed things, and several clubs with the Adventurers Club as the centerpiece for the nightlife. Nice. It could be simply called Disney's Adventurer's Resort (DAR).

If not a whole resort then maybe build a man-made lake right beside the Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, place the new AC there with several other nightclubs, and theme it right. It should also have its own parking lot and have some sort of passable/walkable division between it and the resort.

I don't think any of us would be against a Pleasure Island Version 2 located somewhere on property. It would be a huge money maker!

You know this thread has been alive too long when people who don't even know what the Adventurers Club was (like myself) start to sign up for this forum :)

Would have been good if they had gotten it off the ground. But still, that wasn't the same thing I meant. I'd like to see a whole AC area built near AK lodge.
mixed feelings about that/ W/o a doubt, AK is the weakest park in the entire domestic system, irrespective of a more natural fit...

My only problem with an AK lodge location for a new AC is that I find AKL difficult to get to. I have only taken the time to go there once, and have not eaten at Jiko's, Bomas or Sanaa because it requires too much planning and time to get there. I agree there is a certain thematic fit, But I find AKL sort of isolated and out of the way. Maybe after they extend the monorail to it.... :D

I agree with that. As great as an Adventurers Club at AKL sounds, I have a feeling it would be sparsely attended. I think it might work better at the Polynesian, where it could be easily reached by the three monorail hotels or Magic Kingdom guests looking for a fun place to get a drink.

But are there any other clubs that should be "relaunched"??

There were only 3 clubs that I'm aware of anywhere in the world that had a revolving dance floor. That plus the unsurpassed lighting and fog effects made Mannequins a very unique dance club. I think it's worthy of relaunch.

Has everybody seen this new Vinylmation of the Colonel?

I think the Vinylmation of the Colonel came out more than a year ago. The pin which you posted the link to may be new.

I totally agree. More to the point, I know of NO other club where 20-something gay men dressed to the nines, and middle-aged midwesterners in shorts and fannypacks all get together and dance and everyone feels welcome.

And it may not be totally unique, but it's still rare to find a club where college kids and 40-something convention goers rock out together to live music on a Tuesday night.

Everything about PI was unique, the AdvClub included. That said, the Club never had enough popularity to support an entire themed area. It belongs in a nightlife district with a variety of adult entertainment options. A stand-alone Club is doomed to fail.

Even the pin has been around long enough to turn up in the outlet store.
