saratoga springs reviews?

Right, I'm referring to seeing the tops of the plain, real-world-looking Hotel Plaza Blvd. buildings. Wondering if that makes SSR feel less secluded/immersive/Disney-like. Specifically, I'm trying to decide whether that makes it a bad option for taking a first-time WDW visitor. If the sight lines are not an issue to be concerned about, SSR seems close to perfect.
We just spent a week at SSR and do not recall ever seeing the Hotel Plaza Blvd. hotels except when walking over to Disney Springs. It is a beautiful property and I have a trip report on here with a whole lot of photos of SSR, including the room, pools and grounds. Check it out if you get a chance. As for being Disney-like, if that is what you are going for, SSR is probably one of the least Disney themed of all the onsite properties, which is one of the things I think makes it wonderful. If Disney theme is that important, Art of Animation might be a better choice.

Thanks, will check out your photos and report, much appreciated!

And sorry, didn't mean Disney-like in the sense of being Disney themed (which is a negative in my book), just in the sense of being beautiful/immersive rather than having the real world encroach.

Oh, I misunderstood. SSR is themed very well for what it is and is beautiful. Now how immersive it is and how close it comes to replicating the real Saratoga Springs I can't say as I have never been there. I think for immersive themes, the Wilderness Lodge can't be beat, but there is a crazy amount of construction going on there right now. POFQ sticks to theme very well, as does Boardwalk and the Poly and GF.
Bottom line is we like SSR a lot and hope you do too. Now, we drive, and spend a lot of time at the resort vs. theme parks, so transportation is a non-issue for us, and if you want seclusion and quiet, the Grandstand Section might be a good choice for you as it is the most secluded section, quiet with woods or golf course view with little chance of the outside, real world intruding on your views.

we are currently deciding wether to stay at Saratoga or Coronado? we stayed at Coronado 6 years ago but are thinking of renting points at Saratoga so just wondered if anyone has stayed there recently and if you have any reviews of the place , thanks in advance

We just got back from SSR a month ago. It was our first time staying there and enjoyed it. I'd recommend staying in the Congress Park neighborhood. The pool there is great and it has the first bus stop in the resort. The grounds are beautiful, rooms are huge and the crowds tended to be less since the resort is so large. We were there the entire week and didn't manage to find all the pools, playgrounds and other features. You will love it.

Unless they changed it in the last few months, Grandstand is the first bus stop (it does have a pool too with water feature), then Carousel, then Paddock (with pool and slide), then Congress Park (with quiet pool) and last Springs (main pool and slide).

We will be there in two weeks for a long weekend-room only trip. We have stayed at Grandstand (unfortunately it was the last of the GS buildings, so it felt like quite a walk), last October we were at Springs (that first building is SO close to the main pool and a short walk to Paddock pool) and this time we are going for Congress Park so we will be near Disney Springs.

True for the four theme park routes. The Disney Springs bus stops first at High Rock Springs. Then Grandstand, Carousel, Paddock and Congress Park. This allows from internal transit. At the Grand Stand and want to take bus to the main complex where the food and beverage options, the front desk, community hall, and Spa are all located. Take any theme park bus and as it will stop at High Rock Springs last. When your read to go back, take Spings bus.

Just FYI for all of you that like renting DVC for SSR. Congress Park and the Springs become "preferred" category in 2017.

True. But will it be more points, or like OKW's near the hospitality house, same points just specified booking that typically sells out first.
