San Angel Inn or Coral Reef?

The Coral Reef is a really fun place to eat, not a very intimate feel to it though. You can't beat a giant fish tank as one of the walls of your restaurant. Can't speak first hand about San Angel Inn though. They are both two totally different types of food offerings though. If you like seafood more than Mexican, go with Coral Reef. If you're a Mexican fan and can do without the seafood go to the Inn.

Let me start by saying I LOVE seafood. Now, let me also say that if it was my choice I'd go to the San Angel Inn. I've been to both and the Coral Reef can't compare. It was actually one of the most dissapointing restaurants I've been to in WDW, and we sat right next to the tank. The food at San Angel Inn was suprisingly fantastic. I recommend it to anyone.

I really like both, but I think it depends on your taste and what meal you plan on being there for. Coral Reef is one of my favorite lunch spots in WDW. I've been there twice for lunch and twice for dinner and I have never been disappointed. That said, I think that the lunches were better than the dinners, and I ordered seafood every single time. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're a fish fan.

San Angel is moody, romantic and very tasty. They're good for lunch and just as good for dinner. If you like real Mexican food, you'll like it. They also have the special ambiance of overlooking a ride and having access to the best bar anywhere in the World (if you like tequila). All said, you really can't go wrong with either.

This is the first time I've ever seen anyone call San Angel Inn good! I thought that place was considered unanimously terrible?

I only ate at Coral Reef once, and I had steak, but I remember it being pretty good.

I also love San Angel Inn. As far as atmosphere is concerned, it hands down wins. When I went to the Coral Reef Cafe I found it's food to be good, but nothing special. It's nothing you couldn't get at a nice seafood restaurant at home. The aquarium is nice, but what could be a beautiful view is generally slathered with kids pressing their nose up against the tank to see the fish, not that there is anything wrong with that, but if you are looking for a focused pleasant experience as an adult you may not get it. Also the room for the Coral Reef Cafe is a big box with a glass wall: the noise is pretty awful at times. It doesn't have anything to do with the crowd being particularly rowdy, it just a bad room for acoustics so it sounds like a school cafeteria.

I would go for San Angel Inn. The last time I visited the food was wonderful and you can' beat sitting by "El rio del tiempo". Sure it's a little noisy there as well, but it fits with the market place/town square theme.

We have never eaten at San Angel Inn, however, we try to eat at Coarl Reef every trip. We love sitting there watching the fish swim by, we have never had a bad meal here. We have sat on each of the levels and have always had a great view of the tank. I was looking at eating at the San Angel Inn on our next trip, but there wasn't really anything on the menu my DH would eat besides the tortilla chips and salsa.

MY Family and I have eaten in both restaurants many times. While I wouldn't put either in our top 10, we do enjoy both of them. I rate San Angel over the Coral reef food wise, but we all enjoy seeing the sealife during dinner (especially if your lucky enough to get a window seat).

Don't forget that both offer Lunch and that could be an option.

I have eaten at both restaurants. The food at both was acceptable. Nothing to rave about, nothing horrible.

The ambience at both is special. The Coral Reef is freezing inside, but it has a great view of the aquarium. San Angel Inn is dark and intimate. The water and the pyramid provide a serene environment.

I'm trying to decide which restaraunt to make my ADR. San Angel Inn or Coral Reef? Please let me know what you think.

Can I choose neither? I don't care for either location personally. And I know Coral Reef gets consistently mixed reviews on boards. My TS choices are Epcot are Les Chefs and Rose and Crown (and Le Cell before it went signature for dinner).

The atmosphere at both restaurants is fantastic, but i feel that the food at both places is unfortunately not that good, so i would choose neither

Never ate at San Angel but we did Deluxe Dining last summer and Coral Reef was the only restaurant we all agreed NOT to eat at again (mom and dad 35/36 two boys 16/8). The food was so so and the room was really loud and the fish tank was really not all that interesting and we are fish people (5 tanks including a reef tank). We plan on doing DD again, but Coral Reef would be our last choice from the places we ate at.... well it is a close race between there and Restaurant Merikesh
