that's crazy scott!!! i can't believe they suspened her! - i can understand telling her to change shirts - or take the condoms off - but if she didn't mean it as a joke - it was a good thing!

I read about this the other day in the Sentinal. I wonder if its the condoms on the shirt that bothered them or the fact that she was passing them out in the school...a big no-no around here.

TEENAGERS NEED THEIR RIGHTS!

DO WHAT YOU WANT!

FREEDOM!

HAVE ______!

DO DRUGS!

ALCOHOL!

I don't even know why WFTV took the time to put this on their website. First firing Glenn Richards, and now this. ;)

Gosh I can't believe that. My senior year in high school two guys in my class dressed up as a Trojan box and a condom. It was great. It was all for safe $ex, not to mention it was definitely amusing. They didn't get sent home, although I think some teachers looked down on it. We thought it was a great idea and so did the heath education teachers.

What's the big deal? In my book, it's better for her to pass out condoms than AIDS or some other disease. Not to mention they'd probably react a lot worse if she were to show up pregnant...

They are obligated by law to educated you if you are pregnant. If you can't go to school a tutor is sent to you. Same with AIDS (and other conditions as well.)
I don't know why they so bent out of shape with condoms...some people just bury their heads...:brick:

that wasn't a bad idea...i've seen catalogs for like spencers that had actula condom costumes...woah, i just realized how disturbing that would be to see someone walking around as a giant condom... some sophmore at my school was walking around with a t-shirt that said "STD" on it...i guess thats close...

My German teacher who does not understand English very well ( ... she just moved here from Germany like 2 or 3 years ago) writes S.T.D. on the board everyday. But its not what you think. To her, S.T.D. means "student of the day".

Eventhough this is off topic.. everyday, after the late bell has rung she says "alright class, put away all your other work, drugs, and alcohol so we can start class."

She is a crazy woman, but I would not trade her for any other German teacher :hammer: (she grades really easy, and when learning German.. thats def. a GOOD thing).

Gosh, I'm not sure I know what to say. But I'll try...

She'll probably take a ribbing when she returns to school.
By doing what she did, she certainly found herself in a con..undrum.
Looks like she created a barrier between her and the administrators.
I guess the school showed her where the rubber meets the road.

I know I'm really stretching things here, but it can be a hard subject to work with.:)

*Gets up on soapbox* I'm saddened that anything like that ever happened- especially to hear the mom saying what a "good thing" it was. I'm sorry, but IMO teenagers just shouldn't need condums. They're just not emotionally prepared to have s*x at that age and it just comes off meaningless in the end. Insteed of promoting condums, they should be promoting abstanence. Call me old fashioned, but that's the way I feel. *Gets off soapbox*

AMEN.

Safer ______ = More ______.

If this girl had such a problem, I don't think wearing condoms to school would solve it. Coming from a teacher, it's not something you want to deal with.

(P.S. You lose the game, Meeko. )
