I was at POFQ last week and I can tell you that the cookie sandwiches are still there. And they were awesome! They were considered a dessert on the dining plan so I had 3 of them while there. YUMMY! Now I really miss being there!

Thank god i don't have to explain this to the old lady, she would not be pleasant to be around if she coulden't have her cookie sandwhich.

These were hand made ice scream cookie sandwiches. I just mentioned mint chiop ice cream because that is what I wanted. They would make them with any flavor ice cream you wanted.

Least sad "sad news" ever!

I know where you're coming from, though. For many people there's that one treat they HAVE to get every time they go to WDW to make their trip complete. For me it's the Mickey Premium bars.

This is absolutely false!!! I was there on Tuesday 6/6, and they had them...fresh made chocolate chip cookies with hand-dipped ice cream in the middle. I saw two people getting them, telling me how they get them every visit. They were definitely not pre-packaged. We were in the dessert shop on main street.

Maybe they got enough complaints, and changed their minds. Sounds like something Disney would do (at least the "old" Disney, before too much corporate meddling): Listen to the customers, and be responsive where you can.

On Monday 6/5 they did not have them. They were not on the sign and I asked and was told that about 2 weeks ago they stopped making them at least at the Main Street Ice Cream Shop.

Are you talking about the ice cream shop where they make the waffle cones on the corner, or the dessert shop that is next door? In the dessert shop, they had them. I saw a guy with a paper plate with a cookie sandwich on it. Two large chocolate chip cookies with a couple of scoopes of ice cream in the middle. It did not have a wrapper on it or anything, and he was going on and on about how he gets them every visit, so I think we are talking about the same thing.

Yes, I am talking about the ice cream shop where they make the waffle cones or waffle bowls. That is where you could get them up until now. It seems wierd that the bakery would now have ice cream. We had breakfast in the bakery that morning and I did not notice anything about ice cream cookie sandwiches there, but I did not look.

I'm pretty sure the Bakery Shop next to the Ice Cream Parlor still has the ice cream cookie sandwiches. I think they only have vanilla ice cream, but you get your choice of fresh baked cookies. I got one about three weeks ago with a chocolate chip cookie on the bottom and an oatmeal raisin cookie on top. Yummy!

The bakery...that's the place. That makes sense then. The cookies are probably made there, and they just use Edy's Ice Cream at both places anyway. That ice cream parlour is so packed at times they probably decided to move the sandwiches to the bakery.

I know that I'm probably going to get heat for this, but here it goes......:veryconfu
Explain to me what the Dole Whips are? I've seen the shop near Magic Carpets of Aladin (?!?) and never tried them.

What is the pineapple mixed with???

Dole whip is really good soft serve ice cream in pineapple, vanilla, or swirl (there may be others, but I can't remember). You can also get a Dole whip float made with pineapple soft serve and pineapple juice.:slurp:

BTW, a lot of the moderate and value resorts offer the hand made ice cream cookie sandwich at the ice cream parlor. Also, if you really want a cookie sandwich with a different flavor, just take some cookies from the bakery over to the parlor on mainstreet. I'm sure they would be more than happy to accomodate your indulgences.:slurp:

For further clarification:

I have NEVER bought anything from the ice cream shop, too freaking packed.

For at least the past 2 years, I've gotten the fresh made ice cream cookie sandwiches at the Main Street Bakery & Sleepy Hollow Treats.

Never knew they ever had them at the ice cream parlor.

Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Liberty Square has had ice cream cookie sandwiches w/ vanilla ice cream on fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies for as long as I can remember. The last time the Ice Cream Parlor had a rehab, the boards were full of people fussing about not being able to get them, even though they were still available about 100 yards away.
