Kelly Kinnaman was my recruiter. I was originally supposed to interview at my home school, but decided that since that interview would be rescheduled, I would go to the one at George Mason University. I received an email from the recruiter at my home school telling me that the interview would be rescheduled and that that recruiter (Elizabeth) was hoping for our safety. I sent her a thank you email letting her know that I was going to go to George Mason. She sent me back a thank you note saying "Thank you so very much for your response. My colleague, Kelly, will be looking forward to meeting you" and forwarded my email and her email to Kelly. Kelly knew who I was the next day and thanked me for traveling so far. She also thanked me again in response to my email thanking her for her time and she said I would be hearing from them "very soon." As well, she said that "it was a pleasure to meet you too!!" (the exclamation points were hers.) I think I did pretty well.

Greeneyes I think you and I were in the same interview together with Max and Kelly at Gerorge Mason University, because we had specifically told them we had been interested in Disney for a long time! that does make me feel a little better knowing that they are
truely looking for people with a passion for the program, I think they definitely knew I was interested especially since mentioning I wan't to be an Imagineer. I am very certain though on the fact that I wan't to be placed in attractions hopefully that works out I had spoken with somebody previously and they said if you mention the fact that your taking engineering in school that it would definitely help to place me in that specific area! Most likely I would probably pass up the chance if I was accepted however not placed in attractions for a second chance to go back and try again working anything else mabye accept for characters would be it however those tryouts are being held too far away for me to attend!

Actually, I think I was in the interview right before yours. I had an 8 o'clock interview with another girl. I do have a question for others (those who have actually done the CP if possible).....is there a reason that the recruiters can't tell you whether you made it or not? It seems like Kelly keeps hinting that I got in but not actually coming out and saying it.

It seems to me like they choose the people who have at least some kind of passion for Disney or have a spark inside when they talk about the magic of Disney after all that's pretty much what the company is all about, when it comes to cast members they wan't somebody who could add that extra magic to a guests experience. The first question they asked me was why do you want to work for Disney? and of course I replied because I have wanted to be an Imagineer since I was five years old, it seems to me if you have that magic than your door will open to opportunities within the company I don't beleive that I have met anyone here who when applied for the program wasn't accepted!

What I said to that question was that I had had some wonderful experiences that were made possible because of great cast members and I'd love to provide the same kind of memories for other guests. The only question that I don't think I did all that great on was "Why is it that you think this is a good point in your school career to do this?" I said that I thought it was a good time for a break in my classes and that I had a great deal of experience behind me now.

That's a new question about why it's a good point, or at least I wasn't asked that.

That's the number one thing I tell people and judge on whether I should give them a referral card. You've got to have a PASSION for the job.

It sounds like you've got that PASSION.

Let me know if you get accepted or not.

If you aren't selected to be in attractions, don't pass it up. With your enthusiasm and passion for Disney, I think you will be a great cast member.

Not only does it open up opportunities for repeat programs, seasonal opportunites (like Christmas), advanced internships, but also would allow you to become a campus representative.

Being a campus representative is a great way for you to help educate other Disney lovers and pass your passion on.

Yes this is true I do have a passion for Disney, but I think everyone has it in their own special way something that had to pull them in from the beginning wether it be the characters the movies or whatever else sparked an interest. For me it's always been not so much the parades or the shows but specifically the attractions I can remeber the first time at Epcot and Magic Kingdom riding the Haunted Mansion and Horizons, I can remember being drawn into the element of fantasy and since then I have never found that anywhere else except Disney. This for me is Disney I can see why you would say go with it anyway and I might just do that however like many others who wan't to be placed in specific area's I guess we'll have to wait even though it's starting to drive me nuts! :)

Personally, I don't care where I'm placed as long as I'm placed and I basically told my recruiter that much (not in those words, but I think she understood what I meant.)

Out of curiosity, did you have a resume/cover letter and how were you dressed? Also, did you send a thank you note? I'm just curious as to whether those things really matter at all to the recruiters.

Sorry I accidentally posted before finishing, when attended I can't say I was suited up though just dressed appropriately. I wasn't really nervous at all just rather tired from driving that day and walking around and it had got to be 8:30 at night when they interviewed me, I had not sent them a thank you but now that you mention it that's a good idea even though like you said it may or may not make a difference anyway.

What about the resume/cover letter? I would say that they've most likely totally made up their minds as to who gets what roles and who will not be accepted as far as our presentation goes, but a thank you note is still a nice thing to do :)

It wasn't required, but it always looks good to have a resume (not saying it will make any difference in your case, so please don't get offended) whenever you apply for a job. I'll PM you how to reach Kelly, so check you PM's.

Hi All, I interviewed in Indiana on Sept 22 and I found out a week later that I was accepted. My letter was actually dated the 25th. That was one long week!! I will be doing hospitality. I already filled out all the forms and sent them the $60 and now I'm waiting on my e-mails and confirmations.
***Do any CP alums know why they do a background/credit check? My credit probably isn't outstanding, but they won't NOT let me work there because of this, right? I can't be the first person ever who has had credit card bills and wanted to do the program. Just curious as to why they do this, I thought maybe to make sure I hadn't committed fraud or anything. Any thoughts, let me know. Thanks, and good luck to all who are applying!!!!

I took a resume, cover letter, CP alum referral card, and letter of recommendation from one of my professors. I probably didn't need all that, but I took it anyways, to try to be prepared. I wore a black suit and white shirt and took everything in a black portfolio thing. They thanked me for looking so professional. Good luck!!

All employers ask for your permission to do a background/credit check. I don't think it's really the credit that they pay any attention to. It's the background, to see if you have a criminal record or any of that.

And half the time, they don't even perform the check (I don't know about Disney, that's just been my experience), but they like to have your consent, in case they feel they need to do one.
