I have a non-refundable hotel room, so I hope they don’t end up cancelling!!

Not staying on property? Did you purchase travel insurance? I'd also check the cancellation policy of the credit card you used if runDisney cancels the races next month. If it's announced WDW is canceling events, hotels outside WDW should be flexible.

I was supposed to run a local race this weekend ... with fewer participants than the current national government maximum 1’000 people in a public gathering. And then this afternoon the local government reduced this threshold to 100. In the email we received, it mentioned all the planning that had to take place to cancel the event. I can only imagine the type of planning that would need to go into place for runDisney to cancel an event and that they need to have all their ducks in a row in order to make an announcement.

Not to mention the millions of dollars lost, in registration fees refunded, rooms cancelled, etc.

But people's health is tantamount.

I would hope they would at least let you sign up for a future race with the current registration.

Or a new idea......Each participant gets to choose their own 6.2 mile route!!! I'm heading to ESPN Zone where I know no one else will be.

Anything other than cancelling the races would be preferable. Unfortunately, right now we are also on pins and needles, in Massachusetts,
as a decision on the Boston Marathon has not been made.

I would think that if they decided to completely cancel this race, they would also be closing the parks as well.

And looking at the current 110 minute wait for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, I'm guessing, they will hold off on closing the parks unless they absolutely have to.

This is just my speculation and I have nothing to back up my logic.

Have I told you lately that I 👍 you?
I don't think they are looking to be as quick on closing and cancelling things. Looks like they successfully lobbied the CA governor to exempt them from the over 250 person gathering ban

Edit - Whelp, that didn't last long!

WDW and DLP close Sunday for the rest of the month. Disneyland closes Saturday. DCL will cease new departures Saturday.

Looking more and more like we might not race next month.
