[Rumor] Rock n Roller Coaster Starring Olivia Rodrigo

Today it’s Olivia Rodrigo, twenty years ago it was Hanson, thirty years ago it was the New Kids on the Block, forty years ago it was Tiffany.

Imagine who it will be tomorrow. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Did those groups win a Grammy at age 19, go on a scheduled headlining US tour and play MSG in NYC for 4 nights at age 20?

Leann Rimes won a Grammy at 14; Olivia Rodrigo’s Grammy will be forgotten in three decades as well.

Both Monica and Daya were younger than Olivia Rodrigo when they got their Grammys. Nobody years later, movie knows who they are outside their niche audiences.

In fact, the youngest Grammy winner was actually 8 years old. So…

The popularity currently for Olivia compared to Leann is day and night. Did Leann embark on a headlining US tour in major indoor arenas starting out as a singer ?

Actually she did. She covered Patsy Cline’s “Blue” at the Texas state fair and became an overnight sensation back in 1996-ish.

Then the suits overpromoted her, slapped her into every movie or project they could (Con Air, Coyote Ugly, Days of Our Lives, and a weird CBS claymation Jesus special for Easter in…1998?)

And then she was gone. The suits thar promoted decided she was too old, especially once she got married and had kids.

Then they selected fresh meat.

Will she have staying power? I have no idea. But until she does there's no real reason to consider her. I remember Alanis Morissette was all the rage back in the mid 90s. She was about 20 and won a Grammy for album of the year. She was everywhere for a while. You couldn't turn on the radio and not hear multiple songs from her. It's not a knock against Olivia, but Disney is known for keeping things around for a long time. So if it's not a truly iconic band/artist, just make it something Disney, like the Mayhem, or just change the theme altogether.

Both LeAnn and Olivia have relationships with Disney so both can continue in some form with TWDC if the stars align.

There's also the thing of cross generational, and cross continental success.
To use Aerosmith for example Dream On, and Walk this Way were and are known across vast age generations, wide ranges of musical taste (witness Walk this Ways remix with Run DMC) and touring success in various countries.
People from various countries visit WDW.
A single act that would take their place should have that kind of range.
Most pop acts don't.
They sell in the millions, but they sell to a very narrow demographic.

The band members of Aerosmith are true survivors throughout the years. Steven Tyler has battled drug addition in the last 50 years and relapsed again last year . Hopefully he is getting the help he needs to get clean again.

So is jealousy when one makes it big and successful at such a young age.
High flying, adored
I hope you come to terms with boredom
So famous so easily, so soon
It's not the wisest thing to be

You won't care if they love you
It's been done before
You'll despair if they hate you
You'll be drained of all energy
All the young who've made it would agree

I would move on from that reference, he’s gone from famous to infamous. Of all the people who have been canceled why does he still get his music played?
500 million in album/single sales. Radio will continue to say there's no proof, but come on. Many songs are classic, though.

Don't forget about LeAnn dating a married man and breaking up a marriage. Her country/Christian audience wasn't happy.

Steven Tyler has been accused of rape, molestation and -basically - child trafficking. Disney would be wise to drop him and Aerosmith before that story gets bigger.

They should just license songs from a host of artists. Or go all out and grab The Beatles or The Rolling Stones, who have become more open to licensing in recent years. Imagine "Across the Universe" or "Satisfaction" during the roller coaster ride.

Because he was ground breaking and amazing.
A TRUE talent from the age of a child.
Unlike most of today's pop acts who aren't really good (Taylor Swift) but just build a huge brand.
Michael was to pop music what Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen were to rock music.
Game changing icons.
