Rumor:Reports that BOG will be 2 credits for both lunch and Dinner!

So when you say 2 credits is it 2 counter service credits for lunch? All of the 2 credit signature restaurants are 2 table service credit restaurants. I assume it would have to be 2 counter service credits since it will be counter service for lunch. Maybe just 2 credits for dinner if they are going to include some kind of show or something.

Lets hope this was just a misunderstanding and she was just wrong. I am not trying to deny your source, but I personally don't believe it. I have no source or inside info, just my opinion so take it for what it's worth.

We were told both. A few of us questioned it because we couldn't believe it either, particularly since it was announced on the Disney Parks Blog that it woudl be one credit at both meals. So far, they haven't changed what they told us originally. Again, if they got it wrong, someone really messed up when they told them because they're pretty serious about this kind of stuff. They wouldn't want us telling our clients and then having to go back and look like we don't know what we're doing. Hopefully we'll all know soon.

Wow. I guess on the upside if this is true and you are not on the dining plan you will have no problem getting a seat. Thanks for the info.

I don't see us setting foot in the place for lunch if it's a 2-credit CS meal...UNLESS it is soooooo revolutionary that it redefines counter/quick service as we know it and could be considered something spectacular.

As for dinner, I have mixed feelings. Demand was the only reason I was thinking they might make this 2 credits. The menu choices they've released sound nice, but there are a lot of 1-credit meals with menu options worded to sound as highbrow as the signature spots. If it winds up being 2 credits after all, I really hope for food worthy of the signature label. I guess I'd just like to see the pricing/structure so I can factor it into my budget...i.e. if it's 2 credits, it's probably better OOP if you're not on the deluxe plan (at least that's what we've found w/most 2 credit meals). In the same vein- I'd like to know how the ordering and pricing is going to work. i.e. is it going to be like CRT and Akershus where you have it pre fixe pricing, but order from a menu, set price but family style meal, or a more traditional menu where you can get things a la carte.

It did get me thinking though...I've been up in arms over there being no mention of the gray stuff...and then it got me to thinking about the movie again. Sure, we all know the lines...but if you look at the scene, Belle is being bombarded with plates of food- so, basically a feast with a huge commotion in the serving process. I know this is OT and doesn't really address the 2 credit issues, but if dinner were served in this format and involve as much food as I see in my mind...I could see why they could justify 2 credits.

As in 2 quick credits for lunch? Such a dumb idea. I'll walk through the restaurant to see what it looks like then head next door to Pinocchio's Village Haus to get the same quality food for half price :).

2 credits for dining in the castle I can sort of see, because you're paying for the experience of eating in the castle. But I just can't see that the MK is the place for any other 2 credit dining experiences. If I'm going to eat at a signature restaurant, I don't want it to be with people that have spent all day sweating in the park and with lots of families that have tired kids that just want pizza or chicken nuggets. Having them at the resorts makes sense because most stop and at least freshen up and change their clothes first. And EPCOT is a good location because I think of it as a park that's more for older kids and adults. I don't know - I guess on our budget, I see signature dining as a more of a special, adult experience. Just seems out of place in the MK. Just my opinion.

I know this thread kinda died, but Disney has published the dining plan documents for 2013 and BOG is listed under the quick service section for lunch and table service for dinner. There is a little 2 next to all of the restaurants that require 2 credits and BOG is not one of them. Here is the link from the Disney website:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/me...alog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2013Dining.pdf

Looks like they came to there senses on this issue and decided to keep it at 1 credit.

Maybe so, but who cares as long as it was not true and it's really only 1 credit.

Sorry, it's not a baseless rumor. We were told this by our inside sales people and it was reported as that--information we received from them but not something we have verified from other sources. The fact that it's showing up on the dining plan list is ironic because it hasn't even been added officially to the dining plan yet. No one knows yet. I guess we'll see.

My guess is it will be part of the dining plan since it was added to the brochure on the official Disney website. I guess that could change, but why add it if you are going to take it back later. They still aren't taking reservations for dinner so nothing is set until that happens. Once people start booking ADRs based on the dining plan they will not be able to take it back without angering a lot of people.

They may be waiting to see the response once BoG is open for ADRs... If they see solid demand, then there may be a chance they change from 1 to 2 credits...

Trust me, no one will be more mad about this than I am if it turns out that my DSM and his people were wrong. But I have to believe them for now because they've never steered us wrong. I can't imagine them putting out incorrect information unless they were told the wrong thing--which of course happens. My DSM is ex-military, an Iraq war vet, and completely by the book and his assistant is very on top of things as well. So, we'll see. I really hate to eat crow about this but if I have to, I have to. ;-)

Any word on when they will start taking reservations for dinner? If most of the FL expansion is opening early December with previews starting mid November they should start taking them soon I would think since we are only 3 months out.

No worries I won't hold you to it:)

I was at my parents house today and my dad broke out some of my old original transformers for my sons to play with. Brought back a lot of memories. Your avatar reminded me of that.
