I don't necessarily like it but I am not surprised. If it's going to mean a higher quality of food (and possibly smaller crowds), I'm all for it.

This would be a change then because when the announced the menu, in the comments section of the Disney Parks Blog post, they said that it would only be one credit for both.
Now that you mention it i saw that also! Maybe things have changed! I really would not be surprised if it turns out to be 2 credits

I'm interested in seeing what they will be serving at Gaston's Tavern. The DPB post today said that should be announced soon.

Would people really be willing to spend 2 credits to eat a ham and cheese sandwich or even a "French-inspired" dinner entree? Spending 2 credits on a meal in the Magic Kingdom isn't a financially savvy choice, even at Cinderella's Royal Table... I can't help but think that this rumor is mistaken.

However, I'd go so far as to say that if we find out it's going to be open before we travel AND that it's going to cost two credits, we'll simply cancel our dining plan. We're just "breaking even" as it is (i.e., spending as much for the dining plan as we'd pay out of pocket for the same QS and TS meals, drinks and snacks). Adding a 2-credit TS (and having to pay for an additional meal out of pocket) would result in our spending significantly more to use the dining plan than it would cost to pay out of pocket for what we'd typically eat.

So if 2-credit dining at Be Our Guest means we'll end up dumping the dining plan and spending less money in the long run, I guess that's a good thing! Frankly, I've been looking for an excuse to drop the DDP ever since I realized it didn't cost any less -- and in fact, costs about 20% MORE -- than we'd otherwise pay for our food (even if it does throw extra food at us that we wouldn't typically order and likely won't be able to eat). Try the gray stuff AND save the green stuff! :D

I can see them being wrong about the lunch but knowing WDW and TDO 2 credits for dinner at BOG does not seem too far fetched!

If they charged 2 credits at Pecos Bill would you go? Me either. I could see a 1 credit for Lunch and 2 credits for an evening event that blows your socks off. Maybe i am expecting too much but if i don't get to see a candle sing and the beast dance with belle on my table then i ain't paying 2 credits!:D

May I ask where on their FB page this is? I was just looking and cant see the announcement.

Ok, wait, after rereading, this is not the official WDW page, but a non-affiliated blog.

I'm going to take this about as seriously as if it was told by a bus-driver. The official parks blog only a couple weeks ago said it was 1 and 1, I'm going by the official word until told otherwise.
