So if it's already headed backstage, could this be coming back earlier than expected? Maybe even for Christmas?

It played for me when I clicked on it. I even tried to click it again to see if it had changed, but no, it still is working as of now.
Thats what I'm thinking, it seems a bit too early if they were gonna wait until the actual anniversary date.

I feel like if it was coming for Christmas it would have been on the schedule by now. As of now the calendar goes out to Dec 22nd and still only showing Christmas parades. Not saying that can't change, but most likely it is being brought over to start getting work done on it and testing.

I still lean toward it returning with the 70th, but sooner would be nicer.

Maybe they are planning to bring PTN back on weekends this winter/spring because Fantasmic! Is going to go down to install the dragon, and the fireworks will be hurt by the castle repaint.

How strong is this Rumor?

So they're repainting SBC? So we're stuck with Mix Magic till the 70th????????

The Fantasmic thread has been mentioning it for awhile, stating it’s getting installed 3rd shift, but presumably at some point they will need to practice the new show, which is when I assume it will go down. I have no inside knowledge of this, pure conjecture.

The 70th could always start earlier, like how the 100th began in January, not October
That's true, I hope we get an actual celebration this time as long as the 60th but I don't think we're going to ever get that again. The 70th will probably last from January - September if I had to guess even though it should last as long as the 60th did IMO.

WDW's 50th lasted 18 months, and there wasn't much for it. It probably depends on if they are planning something bigger for the 75th?

It was said that the Dragon was getting installed this fall. Is/was that even possible with F! is running every weekend? In 2009, I think F! was closed the first half of the year, before the Dragon broke......

Anyone know if the floats got moved into DCA or DL's parade storage facility?
The original video showed the Slinky float at the intersection of Harbor and Ball.

Unless the parade storage facility is somewhere other than where I believe it to be (DL backstage; I confess that I don't really know where DCA parades are stored), that would seemingly point to a relatively imminent rollout.

I don't know it to be true, but what Touchdown is speculating makes a lot of sense to me. If Fantasmic and/or fireworks are going to be affected immediately after the end of Christmas as he premised, that would allow TDA to present something in the meantime, bring people in during a slow period, and potentially allow them time to troubleshoot PTN issues when they can better channel their focus, given that other entertainment offerings would be down at that time.

Why would normal fireworks be down?
