Rumor has it...

I don't like the idea at all. Sure HM doesn't need it at all...but Speedway will suffer greatly from it as well. You think the line moves slow now- just wait until FP is on it.

That's a win-win situation. Mansion is one of those attractions that doesn't need the FastPass and the Speedway needs it deperately. Good move if they go through with this.
Yea, I agree. Everytime we've been to Disney, (peak and non-peak) there has always been a relativley short line for HM and a HUGE line for Indy Speedway. Maybe we will be lucky enough to finally get a FP for Indy Speedway. *Hopes Hard*

I've thought about that too. But, I don't ride the Speedway so I really don't care. Ever since I learned how to drive/bought my real car, driving those cars at like 7 mph on a guide rail just isn't thrilling any more. But, this will be a very good thing to those who do ride it and who do use the fast passes. I just wouldn't want to ever wait in standby.

HM will be much better off! Fast pass did nothing but slow things down there.

I always thought the FP machines for HM were pretty lame. I mean the line always goes by super fast because they let a huge group of people in at a time. Hopefully this will speed up the process, because the FP system slowed it down way too much.

Well personally i don't like FP as a whole (on any attraction) but it will simply make the speedway situation much like that of Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh (where the standby waits inflate and the line crawls along). Disney should just face that the capacity of the ride is too small to put FP on it...but they seem to think its needed on every ride they have:rolleyes:

The Haunted Mansion never needed a fastpass; I've never waited for any longer than 35 minutes, no matter what the sign said. However, it did lead to the creation of the horse barn and the well. I'd like to see what they do with the space if the Fastpass machines are removed.

I know that the Indy Speedway could use faster loading times; the lines are massive. However, I don't think that Fastpass is the answer. I just don't understand how that would work exactly.

It is about time that Indy Speedway gets a FP. The line there moves very slowly and if you add a fast pass it could save alot of time.

HM doesnt really need one. it moves quick already

I'm glad the machines might be going to a better use somewhere else. The Haunted Mansion never needed them and as soon as I heard that Disneyland removed their POTC FP Machines, I knew we were next for some changes.

Speedway moves has a moderate OHRC. Can't remember what that stands for, but it's the number of people that move through the ride in an hour. For each track on Speedway, it's 322.5. That's a total of 1290. Not too bad.

I really don't think FP will slow down Speedway too much. We hardly ever operate at full capacity. To install FP they'll just have to keep track 1 open all the time (it's really only open if we're in peak season). They can put the return right over by the merchandise cart on the left side of the queue building, let it lead right up the unused path going up the bridge, and the two lines can merge at the split in the bridge.

As a side note, you'd have no clue how many people ask me if we have FastPass when I'm working greeter.

Sounds like a good idea. I'm surprised the speedway never got Fast Pass. Everytime I've been on it's a good 30 - 40 minute wait.

I don't even think I've ever used the fast pass at the HM as memory serves it just screwed up the line. Fast Pass works much better with attractions that usually have incredibly long wait times, ie Space Mountain, Test Track, Haunted Mansion, etc... Fast Pass for its a small world, nah it eats up way to many people way to fast and adding fast pass would only make things more hectic and disorganized.

If you go to HM late in the evening...you can usually walk on without much of a wait at all.

>>>What are the chances that they will bring back the Mike Fink Keel Boats? The landing on the other side, by BTM, looked pretty "fresh" last year when we were there. (For those who don't remember...where the HM fastpass in currently located, that used to be the landing/que for the Keel Boats) I don't remember ever riding the boats but I think I heard a rumor that might happen.

We usually skip the speedway because of the long lines. I think this would be a fantastic idea if they will do it. HM is great and the line does move very quickly.

I believe they still have 2 or 3 of the keel boats... I saw them lastyear while backstage proping for marching.. then again when leaving on the bus to get to hotel..... sitting there in a off jett of water from the river..... Might be possable...

Mansion fastpass are currently all covered and the area has been roped off. After talking with a few cm's at the mansion, it appears that fastpass has made the line actually longer than shorter.

Personally, I agree that the Haunted Mansion does NOT need FASTPASSes, while the Indy Speedway does. However, I don't know why it matters which machines are used where; it simply seems to be a case of TIS getting FASTPASSes, and HM losing them.

This doesn't bother me for a few reasons:

1. I collect FASTPASSes and the Haunted Mansion FP will become a collector's item.

Just my opinion.

WOW, I didn't know anyone else did that! Hey, if you are talking collector's items, then do you have both Dinosaur FASTPASSes? I have both an orange one and a green one, and I have no idea when or why they changed colors.

i personally like this idea, the past few years i've visited WDW i've never had a chance to ride the speedway because of the lines. and i cant remember a time when i got a fastpass for HM. then again, when i start driving (which will be before i visit) i'll probably not care much for it anymore, but whatever.
