That's Awesome!
Yes, it must've been, wouldn't it?Amazing pictures, thanks. Hmmm, 1967...the year after Walt died. Looking over the property without his brother along must have been so bittersweet for Roy...
Wow, where do you get these pictures from!?Here's some pictures I believe we're taken at the same location (Governor Kirk's Mansion) during the signing that is presented on the second image from the book:

I think you may be right!Isn't that the tree where retiring CM's throw their shoes up into in the background?
Yes please.I apologize for a late response but I found these pictures on A website called Florida Memory and I'll try to post some more pictures soon. I do not believe there's any more of Roy, but there's some aerial pictures of the property before development and during development.
My absolute favorite WDW history book. I loved reading this! The book is Realityland: True Life Adventures at Walt Disney World by David Koenig. It's pretty good. Covers the history of WDW from conception to present (2007).
For anyone not already aware, this was on this day in 1965! Appropriate post timing! This is the one I like the most..
Thank you so much for sharing these photos! I have a shot of Walt walking the land standing just beyond where the "X" was placed to denote the location of Cinderella's Castle. It is overlaid with a shot of the Castle (printed on clear plastic) to give the illusion of him standing in front of it. It is one of my very favorite pieces of "artwork" hung in my house. In fact that one is hung in my office I love it so much.
