Amazing pictures, thanks. Hmmm, 1967...the year after Walt died. Looking over the property without his brother along must have been so bittersweet for Roy...
Yes, it must've been, wouldn't it?

WDW has got its own long history. People are too quick to think of DL as the historical Disney park, because some of its main gate still looks somewhat like it did when Walt was alive and it was a few years older than WDW.

I apologize for a late response but I found these pictures on A website called Florida Memory and I'll try to post some more pictures soon. I do not believe there's any more of Roy, but there's some aerial pictures of the property before development and during development.

Wow, where do you get these pictures from!?

* gots any more? :hungry: *

Thank you so much for sharing these photos! I have a shot of Walt walking the land standing just beyond where the "X" was placed to denote the location of Cinderella's Castle. It is overlaid with a shot of the Castle (printed on clear plastic) to give the illusion of him standing in front of it. It is one of my very favorite pieces of "artwork" hung in my house. In fact that one is hung in my office I love it so much. :)

The book is Realityland: True Life Adventures at Walt Disney World by David Koenig. It's pretty good. Covers the history of WDW from conception to present (2007).
My absolute favorite WDW history book. I loved reading this!
