Hi! We are planning on eating at the Rose Crown Pub when we are at Epcot in a couple weeks. We would like to eat and watch Illuminations at the same time. So any suggestions on what time we should try to get our priority seating? When does Illuminations usually start? Is there anything special I should ask for when making the PS, like a special table or anything? Help is appreciated! :sohappy:

21 days to paradise! Caribbean Beach here I come!

Get the latest seating possible if you can (which I believe is around 8:00). You can request seating outside, but that will not be guaranteed. I recommend that you get there early for your PS. You have a better chance of being able to get your requested seating if you get there early and make the request.

Please be forewarned that EVERYONE with a PS from 7:30 on is planning on staying to watch Illuminations! You can ask for an outside seat; the CM I asked just laughed!

I've tried early, late, you name it. In my experience, it seems to be the luck of the draw. Sometimes I get an outside seat with a view, sometimes not. I've tried to duplicate my successful PS time but it doesn't always work.

When I made my PS reservation for April - the latest time that they had was 7:30 - I accepted it somewhat disappointedly.
When we arrived on the night at 7:30 I was told that they were running late - They gave me an alarm and told me to re-attend when it went off. I requested an outside seat and was told that when the next available table that will seat your party becomes free - thats what you get.
When the alarm went off it was nearly 8:15 - we went to the reception and were shown to an outside table with a great view. Great (I thought) this dinner is going to last us until 9:00 - and it did - we had a great view of Illuminations.
To some up though - it IS the luck of the draw !!
Good Luck.

When my dad, sister and I ate at the Rose & Crown the summer of 2000, we made dinner reservations in early spring and we requested dinner, with a viewing of Illuminations. They didn't have any seating the night we wanted, but they did the following night. We were able to have our table outside with a fantastic view of Illuminations. I don't know if they still make these reservations, but it doesn't hurt to try.
Good Luck!

It is a busmans holiday.................but thats the idea of the World Showcase. The UK is only staffed by English cast members (ooooops - that should be British). Our server actually lived little more than 15 miles from us and so we had a lot to talk about during the course of our meal and we got excellent service from him. The food is typical British food (Harry Ramsdens fish & chips :slurp: ) and real British beer. Only the prices are Disneyfied = inflated !!!!!!!!
We've eaten there on our last two visits to The World - its a typical English country pub with splendid views over the lagoon, and even better if you're able to get a table during the Illuminations.

I'll second that Captain Hook! I live down on the south coast and live right by many "typical" english pubs. the Rose & Crown is spot on but

1 Restrooms are toilets over here

2 If a british pub was non-smoking there would be an outcry!

3 They are not as clean as the WDW version!(in a nice way!!)

4 None of them have a singing pearly queen in residence!!!!

Captain Hook your right it is british as funnily enough it is called the British Pavillion / Pub and also as there are Scottish and Welsh and people from N. Ireland working there.

I have two comments to make:

1) Like everyone has said it's hard to get "guaranteed" PS. I called one night to get reservations and the woman told me that there was wasn't any. So we took our chances with getting a table at all, but it must have been our lucky night beacuse not only did we get a table but it was outside. Like everyone said, I believe that it's luck of the draw sometimes.

2) Be careful of the wind. If it's a windy night, and it' s going in the right direction, then you're going to get a face full of smoke from the fireworks. When we went in March our server told us that it happens quite often... I dunno if this is true or not, but I thought that I'd forewarn you!

Overall though, it's a great restaurant... HAVE FUN!!!
