Well folks...After 3 years of waiting. After 3 years of anticipating. And after one whole day waiting in the hot sun in front of MS, while riding no other rides....I RODE MISSION SPACE TODAY..twice
Folks, This ride is a truly awesome experience. OMG, its just great. Im not going to go to much into it, cause you got Robs post for that, but this ride beat out TOT with just its queue. I mean, I was one of the first ones on today, and after waiting since 9:15 am, ALL DAY, I finally got on. They opened it at 4 today. Well, they have a pod put up in the entrance Planet. Well, the queue for this ride best out tower alone. The pics you have seen of the space wheel do not do it justice. It's almost 2 story's high. Well, after being rushed throught the queue, I got right into the breifing room.I was an Engineer the first time, and my job was to put the rocket into hypersleep, and to Put out the wings to land on Mars. Let me just tell you, even though you can see the centrifuge, that doesnt matter. You get into your X-2 rocket, and sit down. There is this briefcase-like door to put your belongings in. Anyway, your tilted on your back, and it counts down, and OMG, the G's are so great. Your pushed all the way into your seat. You get into space, and boom, zero G's. Another highlight is when you slingshot aroung the moon, and then when you go into Mars's atmosphere, you hit some more very positive G's. Im not going to tell you the rest, but just when you think its over, its not. This is what Epcot needed.
And for todays pics, you will not be dissapointed. I got pics of the centrifuge, the queue, the inside of the pod, the screen, me in the restraints, and me touching some stuff in planetary plaza. They should be up later.
OMG...I cannot stop saying OMG, cause this ride was the best thing ever.
One warning....DO NOT TURN YOUR HEAD...DO NOT..DO NOT...
BTW, I got a MS hat, and 2 iron on patches. Just to let you know, the registers in the gift shop are not ringing everything up, and I got my hat "Free" cause the register didnt catch it.
The firstt time I went on, there was no prob., but the second time, there were tech. difficulties.
Anyway, I really dont have any Disney news, since I stayed in one spot all day....BUT IT WAS WORTH IT:lol:
