Well folks...After 3 years of waiting. After 3 years of anticipating. And after one whole day waiting in the hot sun in front of MS, while riding no other rides....I RODE MISSION SPACE TODAY..twice

Folks, This ride is a truly awesome experience. OMG, its just great. Im not going to go to much into it, cause you got Robs post for that, but this ride beat out TOT with just its queue. I mean, I was one of the first ones on today, and after waiting since 9:15 am, ALL DAY, I finally got on. They opened it at 4 today. Well, they have a pod put up in the entrance Planet. Well, the queue for this ride best out tower alone. The pics you have seen of the space wheel do not do it justice. It's almost 2 story's high. Well, after being rushed throught the queue, I got right into the breifing room.I was an Engineer the first time, and my job was to put the rocket into hypersleep, and to Put out the wings to land on Mars. Let me just tell you, even though you can see the centrifuge, that doesnt matter. You get into your X-2 rocket, and sit down. There is this briefcase-like door to put your belongings in. Anyway, your tilted on your back, and it counts down, and OMG, the G's are so great. Your pushed all the way into your seat. You get into space, and boom, zero G's. Another highlight is when you slingshot aroung the moon, and then when you go into Mars's atmosphere, you hit some more very positive G's. Im not going to tell you the rest, but just when you think its over, its not. This is what Epcot needed.

And for todays pics, you will not be dissapointed. I got pics of the centrifuge, the queue, the inside of the pod, the screen, me in the restraints, and me touching some stuff in planetary plaza. They should be up later.

OMG...I cannot stop saying OMG, cause this ride was the best thing ever.

One warning....DO NOT TURN YOUR HEAD...DO NOT..DO NOT...

BTW, I got a MS hat, and 2 iron on patches. Just to let you know, the registers in the gift shop are not ringing everything up, and I got my hat "Free" cause the register didnt catch it.

The firstt time I went on, there was no prob., but the second time, there were tech. difficulties.

Anyway, I really dont have any Disney news, since I stayed in one spot all day....BUT IT WAS WORTH IT:lol:

Its great to keep hearing how good this ride is; especially since it replaced one of my favorite rides at the world (Horizons). Two questions:

1. Which one is more intense (in a physical sense) M:S or ToT?

2. Why can't you turn your head?

Thanks!:sohappy:  :hammer:

1---I find MS much more intense..It might just be that I rode Tower so many times tho
2-Cause you will Vomit.

I think the way that the ride is designed.....basically like a wheel if you turn your head you will be "off balanced" and will make you feel weird....is this true?

Hehe. When I heard they were opening this afternoon all I could think was "Room1313 is going to be overjoyed."

For this week it's supposedly going to be open Wednesday and Thursday @ 4:00 pm, or slightly later -- barring any technical difficulties -- until 9:00 pm. Friday it will be closed to the public because Disney is having a M: S party for the contract firms that worked on M: S.

Preliminary feedback is that things are going even better than expected and even though there are occasional technical issues, M: S has been pretty reliable thus far. Apparently it's not going to be another Test Track, which is a good thang...a VERY good thang.

Right, kinda. It screws up the equlibrium (10 points for that one) with your balance....If you keep your head on the headrest, you have no idea your spinning, not even the slightest clue

HAHA....I was very overjoyed. It looks like im going Thursday then. I have got such a bad sunburn from waiting out there all day though. I was an idiot not to put sunscreen on. BTW, at around Noon, a group of CM's came out, and one of them was named Skyler, and I think he might look at these boards, cause he kinda looked at me (the look people give me when they reconize me from me avatar) and was like "Whats up buddy". Maybe he was just a nice CM, but Skyler, if your reading this, you work at a great ride. You'll be seeing alot more of me over there:)

 VOMIT?!!?!! Wow.....intresting...that a M:S would be more intense than ToT....I guess they've really spent sometime on this ride to make it exciting for the thrill seekers out there....so I guess the next question would be...would you consider M:S to be the best theme park ride in the world??

Thanks for the 411 on M:S room1313@TTZTOT !!!:D

Any thrill ride has the potential for vomit, this one is said to be extreme, (or so i keep reading) It will eventually be one sided on how great this attraction is and how it has become the greatest thrill ride in florida. I dont think it will be the greatest for the world, Some great coasters have been comming out all over.

There are some better thrill rides. But for overall experience...the drama...the ambience...the anticipation...the atmosphere...there is nothing that beats M: S right now. It's just such a fantanstic implementation of an idea that it's going to be hard to beat. A roller coaster is just a roller coaster - I mean, you know when you're riding a roller coaster - but M: S takes you somewhere else completely.

Now on to the dislikes....I only have two...1-the 0 g effect was not as intense as i hoped, but its still great
2- and the exit hallway i didnt like because theres a bunch of lawn chairs, and it kinda looks like a backstage concert hall or something...im sure it will be changed

Perhaps the lawn chairs were there for those who might become ill?

Anyhow, how in the name of MKT did you get a camera INTO the ride? I know Rob got shots from outside, quene, theming, etc already, but inside the ride? I thought they were confiscating film, etc.
