Room Upgrades

The only thing I've heard is that honeymooners sometimes get upgraded. However I am honeymooning at the Poly in July, so I think people have gone out of their way to tell me about their honeymooning experiences...that's why I've heard so much about it. :)

I'm sure Disney just does it whenever the situation presents itself, and the CM has the urge to do an upgrade that's available. It's probably rare & happens to lucky people.

First and foremost you want to make sure that your reservation is noted that you are honeymooners. This way when it downloads to the resort about 5 days prior to arrival they will see it. They can't do anything if they have no clue, so make sure if you booked it yourself, you let them know, if you booked through a travel agent, make sure they call and have it noted. You never can tell what they might do!!

Good luck to both of you!!

I have not had an upgrade since 2004 at WL. Now i have no choice but to book courtyard views.

Good business ploys Disney uses. We got an upgrade back in 2002. Caribbean Beach price but at Yacht Club. Haven't stayed at another moderate since that free upgrade! Yacht/Beach/BoardWalk/WL and all have been great.

We were upgraded in September 2006 at the WL from standard view to woods view. But this was the off season.

This time at Poly we didn't get upgraded. But I checked room availability before we left, and I knew that only garden view rooms were available. So, I didn't expect anything since everything was already booked. And since I wasn't willing to pay for it if there was something but wasn't going to be free, I didn't ask.

If you want an upgrade, I suggest that you check room availability online before you leave. Just go into the WDW website like you're booking a trip and see what's being offered. That way you know if there's even a chance of it happening before you leave.
