Room requests?

Slim. If you let them know why you want the specific room, you stand a much better chance. For example if you request room 2202, Disney has no idea why you requested this so if 2202 is already occupied for that time frame, you are out of luck. If you tell them you want a room that faces away from the parking lot, well room 2202 may not be available but 2203 or 2201 could be available and would fulfill your request as it is right next door and presumably has the same view. See what I mean? Be as general as you can and you stand a much better chance of getting a room that will fulfill your request. Best of luck!! Marie

Just be sure that you prioritize your request.....for example.....
If your most important request is a king bed....list that first. Then whatever is the next important.
When I went last September, Iisted 1. Overlooking the lobby 2. pool view 3. king bed. Well...I got the lobby room overlooking the pool but instead of a king, my husband and I got bunks  . I am not sure if that is the way they try to honor requests, but that is what I would do. I also call 2 times before my trip to be sure that the request is listed on my reservation and then I call the resort directly 2 days before arrival to check on the request. It is my understanding that the hotel does not actually get the reservations until 2 days before arrival.
Have a Magical Trip! :cat:

We requested connected rooms for my trip in Sept at Wilderness lodge and were unable to get them. They did give us two rooms next to one another though which was better than being completely separated, but still highly disappointing.

I'm more interested in a building, overlooking the beach area at CBR. It's not really a preferred area but it is a waterview room that I am booked at. But I have noticed their waterview also states pool view.

What are your chances of getting a specific room if requested?

We have requested certain rooms for all the years we have been going, and have gotten one of those rooms each time. I usually call 3 to 4 weeks in advance with my request. I usually know just what area we want to stay and I give them a block of room numbers that we would be good with, and they always seem to have one in that area.

Awesome, Give them call and ask that since you already have waterview, to put in you'd prefer a Beach view as opposed to a pool view. That would be perfect and something the room assignment team can work with pretty well. I hope you get your beach view, that sounds so lovely!!! Marie

Oh and you don't have to call today as the new public offer has come out, which may result in lengthy hold times, but call that in within the next few days so it is on your reservation. You don't need to wait for a specific time or date for that. Marie

So when I call in a few months and request a specific room at Grand Floridian, I might get it? I had a good view of MK and the fireworks, but what I really liked was the room itself - reminded me of the room my mother shared with her sister growing up - that dormer attic room feel.

I can beg sweetly.... :)

Hey there LAKid, It isn't that, if the specific room number you ask for is occupied and they don't know why you want that room, they cant help you. Request a dormer style room and you have a better chance of getting that. If you have multiple requests, as Tinkerbell said above, make sure to put your top priority in first, next highest second and so forth. They may not be able to fulfill all but will try to do the one that is most important to you first, if at all possible. As always all room requests are exactly that, requests and cannot be guaranteed. Also why are you waiting to put those requests into your reservation? Marie

I put in a request for both dormer & king size bed when I made the reservation and confirm what I can through on-line check in - I just want the room/building I stayed in this past July, which is the request I will make directly with the resort about a week before I arrive. Disney knows this is a special celebration (daughter's birthday), so I want a lovely room for her birthday trip and I know she will love the dormer room with a king size bed (and not near the pool).
