room comfort

I have family that has just returned from WDW and they could not get cool in the rooms they were in.The maintainace crew told them that ALL resort hotels are now controlled with an electronic lock-out and the thermostat cannot go below 68.Has anyone else heard about this if so I would like to save my money instead of going to be uncomfortable.I have tried getting an answer from the resort but they just give me the run-around and not a solid answer.

Sort of off-topic, but we froze our butts off in every restaurant we went to on our last trip. Have the restaurant temperatures been moderated a bit too (I hope)? The coldest was The Brown Derby. My daughters were putting the cloth napkins across their shoulders like shawls.
We've also had this experience at several Disney restaurants, both at WDW and DLR. However, we may be in the minority in that we keep our house at 78 during the summer. Needless to say, we've not had a problem keeping our resort rooms cool enough for us.

I guess I'll elect myself ambassador for the Polynesian regarding this topic: Every time my family and I have stayed at the Poly, we've frozen our butts off. However, we're going this year again to the Poly after a two year break, so it's very possible that the newly implimented thermometers will change the rooms from always being iceboxes like in the past.

**As long as the Polynesian still has what my family and I call the "power toilets" that flush with twenty tons of force and that channel that only shows the Mickey mouse symbol spinning in circles, we'll be just fine.:p
