Surviving Saturday at Cedar Point.

Half the rides have broken down throughout the morning. Tried for Maverick but the thing still hasn't opened 4 hours after opening.

Waited 45 min for SteVe before it broke. 25 min later I couldn't wait anymore and left for Magnum.

I kid you not, 5 SECONDS after I leave the queue it starts back up again. I was so livid I couldn't stand looking at it.

Meanwhile magnum has zero line and I did two rides on it after that asinine wait. Managed to hit valravn in the sweet front row middle seats along with back row gatekeeper and a millennium force ride.

Today's been a serious mixed bag and the worst crowd of the trip so far. We'll see how the rest of the day goes from here.

Enjoy the day - regardless of crowds or breakdowns you don't realize how lucky you have been on this trip to get to go on all these rides (that I have wanted to go on lol)

Oh yes! I'm enjoying the day very much!!! But...

Waited in line 1.5 hours for Maverick before it too broke down. I adamantly wanted to stay in the line and our wait was extended another hour before I rode.

On the flipside, I got front-row seats without asking. It's been a really weird day! 😅

In two weeks I will be going on a day trip to Lake Compounce in CT, I’m mostly excited, but I‘m a little bit scared. I can’t wait to ride Boulder Dash for the first time (heard amazing things about it), but I’m dreading Wildcat (heard terrible things about it, what is it with rough woodies being named Wildcat?) Have any of you guys ever been to Lake Compounce, and what were your thoughts on the coasters?

Back car of Steel Vengeance is literally the craziest experience I've ever had. Wow.... 😳
It’s an awesome coaster! It shouldn’t be able to do all that. And to think they used the same wooden beams from its predecessor is pretty neat. Way to go Rocky Mountain Coasters! But sort of crazy you have to go through a metal detector to ride.

Airtime hills are painful in a fun way (if that makes sense).
Umm I think the older you get, the more painful in a less fun way those get. I only rode it once.

And sorry to hear about the setbacks today. My first trip to CP was 11 years ago on a Saturday. 2 hours waiting for Millennium Force only to go down twice.

I used to live 15 minutes away from Lake Compounce. Boulder Dash is amazing. Really fantastic, pretty unique wooden coaster. Wildcat is trash. Which is weird because they literally spent a year retracking it in 2018. The ride is fine, but the coaster is way too rough. The rest of the park is nice. There’s a really interesting trackless BooBlaster and a bunch of flat rides/ theme park staples.

Cedar Point merch haul from today. My pin board will be happy when I get home. ☺

I got the dragster pin because 1. I actually saw it in the park, just couldn't ride it, and 2. It very well could be removed and it would be a neat nostalgia piece.
Did you and your family go to the Merry Go Round Museum? It’s not super big, but it’s a nice display of historic carousel items.

Sadly not, I'm on a bit of a tight schedule.

Currently at Kennywood, and both Steel Curtain and Thunderbolt are closed today. 😭😭

I have done racer, phantom, and sky rocket and I'm currently in line for jackrabbit. Phantom was surprisingly smooth and a great ride.

The Turtle is a really unique and oddly thrilling ride! Bummed steel curtain and thunderbolt are closed though.

Sad to hear that both Steel Curtain and Thunderbolt are closed. I was especially curious to hear your thoughts on the former, which hadn’t opened yet when I visited. Phantom’s Revenge is unlike any other coaster, being an old Arrow Looper (famed in its day for roughness) which was reworked by Morgan with airtime hills replacing the inversions. Those wide open Morgan trains just might be the world’s comfiest coaster vehicles. Phantom’s Revenge is solidly in my Top Ten.

If there’s still time for you in Kennywood after Jack Rabbit, more recommendations: Exterminator. Noah’s Ark. Old Mill dark ride. French fries at The Potato Patch. And check out the historic Laughing Sal near Jack Rabbit.

Yea, I'd have loved to ride that.

I'm currently in line for Exterminator and have done all the above except Sal. Potatoes (with cheese) were OK but not seriously awesome (then again, I'm spoiled with CFA waffle fries and In-n-Out fries)

Noah was quite odd being my first funhouse, but quite interesting nevertheless. Jack Rabbit was wonderful with the double down giving good airtime. Also, I got front row on Phantom which was awesome!

Isn't Exterminator an exact copy of Primeval Whirl of old?? I'd LOVE to experience that again it's been too long!

Well, it was. Very enjoyable and I'm glad to have experienced that track layout again!
Primeval Whirl was already closed when I finally visited Animal Kingdom last year 😭, and I have only vague memories of Exterminator’s layout (hard to suss out when you’re spinning in the dark). Apparently Fun Spot Kissimmee’s Galaxy Spin in the same layout too; I found it well above average for a spinning wild mouse.

Potential switch in plans may occur. Will keep you posted. 😏😏
Hmm...
Then I dip down to BGW for a day (I'll make sure to ride Pantheon for you guys!) and wrap up at Carowinds for two days (I'll be there on July 4th weekend. Yes, I tried scheduling around it but it didn't work with plans, so we'll see how I survive).
Adding Kings Dominion? Great Adventure?

Also you've been on vacation for like a month now -- 🐐 status
