Disney has posted auditions for a new musical coming to the Hyperion Theater which has been vacant since the parks reopened. Based on the descriptions of what they're looking for, this appears to be for Hercules as one of them appears to be for the 3 muses from the movie:

Role #1/Featured Principal – 3 Female identifying roles, 20’s to 50’s. Vocal Range: All. Style: Proficient with harmonization and ability to sing in many styles from Destiny’s Child to Andrew Sisters. These three performers are a fun, energetic and musical sisterhood that acts as the occasional “Greek Chorus”. All abilities and types welcome.

Yep, they've put them back up. I am pretty much convinced it is Hercules.

Role #3 and #5 come across as Hercules before god abilities, and Hercules after. Unsure if they would double cast it however? Would be an interesting way to do the "transformation"

I looked it over again and right now it appears that it could be Rogers which would make a lot of sense since Hyperion is at the doorstep of Avengers Campus since Guardians got integrated into AC.

But we'll see what comes out of the eventual announcement if its Hercules, Rogers or some other idea no one thought of but Encanto definitely not in the cards. Currently callbacks are scheduled next month

All the Rogers the Musical talk feels like a jumpscare. 😂 I'd much rather they put an honest-to-goodness original musical in the Hyperion if it is going to be a limited run. Perhaps this is their version of an out-of-town tryout.

I don't love Hercules, but at least it's not super overplayed in the parks (other than "Go the Distance," which isn't even that great of a song IMO) and it's something getting back into the Hyperion. I could see it as a very logical "Aladdin 2.0" with opportunities for riffing.

But this is only acceptable if they bring over the Haunted Mansion nod from the film when they stage "I Won't Say I'm In Love."

My first instinct when I saw the casting list was Hercules but female British accent doesn't fit. The only female British accent I thought of was Jane, and the Tarzan movie doesn't have the millennial love that Hercules does. (Someone I know suggested Mary Poppins because of that but the rest of the role descriptions don't fit.)

But as much as I have joked as a Marvel and Avengers Campus fan that we should have Rogers: The Musical in the Hyperion, honestly, I'd be happier if it was Hercules as I could see Hades filling that Genie role of keeping jokes fresh and inspiring return visits.

If it is Rogers: The Musical, I'd expect it to be a much shorter show - maybe a half hour at most. Maybe only 20 minutes. Most people are not going to go spend an hour watching an original Marvel musical unless the music is outstanding and what we heard thus far in Hawkeye was not. lol

I feel it’s going to be a Marvel show. Also interesting they’re referring to it as a limited run, I don’t believe Aladdin or Frozen ever got labelled as that. I can see it just running for summer.

When Aladdin got extended after being planned to be replaced by Toy Story, they labeled its extension as an "open ended" run which lasted almost 6 years before Frozen came in.

Frozen lasted almost 4 years until COVID forced Disney to cut it along with Magical Map
