No offense, but since when has WDW been one to actually close rides during the off-season? I visited in early-Sept. last year (still summer vacation) and Spaceship Earth, Haunted Mansion, and Rock 'n Rollercoaster were all closed. This wouldn't be the first time they've decided to pull something during the summer. :dazzle:

I'm sorry, but early-September is not still the Summer period. Not that it makes much of a difference in your point of course (given that SSE & HM were both closed over the Summer).

But this is different. SSE & HM were refurbs that took many months to complete. No matter when they started hey would be down during either Summer or the Holidays (or both). The Earth globe refurb shouldn't take nearly as long and it would make much more sense for them to do it between Easter (which is early this year) and Summer.

I have seen ROE from many points, but not all, and havn't had any trouble seeing what was on the screens. (Unless the firework smoke was blowing in my direction)

I have always been able to tell that I am looking at earths creation, from water, to land, to the many animals, to human foot steps. Then as the show progresses you see humans from all over the world with our many accomplishments. At the end you see the candles lit from candle to candle soon showing the Olympic torch to the center torch in the middle (many candles to one single candle to the torch, Playing in the background We Go On)

I agree that the globe needs a rehab, but I'm not sure why some say they can't tell what most of the images are. I'm even partially blind in my right eye. It's just old technology that needs to be updated badly.

I heard the cut off date was somewhere in Mid May, if it doesn't go out for rehab by then, Then they are going to hold off until after the 4th of July.

The Earth Globe isn't going anywhere while RoE is still around, it was just under for refurb but it will be back up soon, if not already.

Huh? I think you are mistaken. It was scheduled for refurb, but it never happened (yet?) The test show was only a one night thing.

I would be bummed if it was missing during our trip next month. ROE is my wife's favorite in all the World. So it goes though, if it is in sick bay.
