Did anyone else pick up on the bit about editing together your own personal ride experience with music and such....

Looks like Universal are jumping on the touch screen generation.

So its a rollercoaster with touchscreens........:lookaroun

A new coaster always sounds good...but I am glad Disney isn't doing something like that. I feel that there is no reason to appeal to the so called "You-Tube" generation (even if I may be a part of it). I don't think its a smart business strategy to build something that has a short relevant life. I have the same problem with American Idol...especially since that show is losing popularity on a daily basis and they have barely started work.

As you mentioned with AI, Disney has the same exact strategy. Thats why they're building TSM and AI, and why SSE has the insert your pic touchscreen finale.

Wait, if they are going to use touch screens, how long before some members on here start bashing Universal for using something that they bashed Disney for using??? I say, probably never....

However, why does it seem like Universal is really kicking Disney's back side lately with new, innovative rides????

I’m not sure it was very smart for Universal on deciding to make this new coaster an outdoor- coaster.

I think Universal Japan has a coaster very similar to the one mentioned on this thread, and although it does look like a fun and thrilling coaster, it’s also a real eye-sore that doesn’t fit in architecturally with its surroundings.

It kind of reminded me of wanting to build a new coaster while playing Roller Coaster Tycoon when there wasn’t enough room for it. You had no choice but to snake the coaster around other attractions just so the coaster could make a complete circuit; even if it meant compromising the rest of the park’s flow and architectural cohesiveness.

I don’t like the idea of the coaster going into City Walk and/or Jimmy Neutron’s ride because odds are the coaster will just wind up looking forced and cramped.

This ride looks amazing!

You got to admit that there's a lot of exciting stuff going on over there.
I think the customize your experience will prolly be more like a 'edit your own ride video' type thing being able to select multiple angles and using different theme music. Then they'll prolly allow you to send this vid to your friends or what not...thats my best guess...
still, pretty neat!

Maybe not that. But add the new Simpson's. Updated Earthquake/Disaster. Harry Potter land.

Then you have a series of reasons to go. And that is what they are banking on.

Looks like a fun coaster. I look forward to riding it.

Bingo.

Also, there will now be more than one reason to make the walk over to Universal Studios from IoA.

It looks good but won't this ruin the entrance and city walk area?!

It sounds like it'll just stick a bit out of Universal Studio's turnstyles into what is generically called "City Walk", I doubt it'll be much of an eye sore if done right. However, I am afraid it will be an ear/headache.

A year is actually quite long for an off the shelf coaster these days. Mall of America just put in a Eurocoaster in about four months.

Yeah, I echo this as well. I believe when Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio (about an hour east of me), adds a new coaster, they do it in the closed offseason (winter season between October - April).

So, this new hypercoaster at Universal Orlando taking a year to complete, is not too bad of a time frame for it to open.
