Rock work in the STOLport area

I was driving around the MK area yesterday and noticed some large pieces of artificial rock work sitting in the STOLport area. Anyone know what they are for? They looked to be Big Thunder or Splash Mountain type and color.

Perhaps for the Fantasyland Expansion? The concept art for TLM showed quite a bit of exterior rockwork. :shrug:

might be a way to speed up the building process. Have it done before the building is done so when it comes time for it they just bring it over and install it after parkclosing. Just a guess.

It's the new DVC resort: Mountain Top Villas. There's 3 sections to stay in, the Rockies, Appalachian, and Himalayas. The Himalays will include a new Yeti in A mode.

That is what I was thinking. It is quite common for builders to do finish mock-ups on or off site for big projects.

The landing strip. A single run way outside of MK parking. It houses trailors and lines for parked cars. A few short years ago, it still looked just like a runway. Saw it with me own eyes.

Short Take Off and Landing air port. Many many moons ago there was a small airport located next to the TTC. The runways remain and you can check them out on Google earth.

I don't have any actual info, but if I was a betting man, this would seem to be the most logical answer. I had heard that some demo of River Country had begun.

I rode BTMRR three times this week and the rock effect was off each time.
