Rock 'n' Roller Coaster - Help!

I'm not a fan of this ride. I like Space Mountain, but I don't like the thought of going upside down. I held on so tight, I think my DH had to pry my fingers loose. I was also scared of my daughter falling out, which I know wouldn't happen. :lookaroun Tell him tho, that my DD has been riding since she was 6 (yes she was tall enough) and she loves it. She isn't scared one bit. When my DH and DD go on it, I sit on the wall and people watch. Sometimes that is fun too. :D

one of my best rides!

i was truely scared when i went on it, i went on it because i said i would so i did. i was worrying in the line and felt like vomiting everywhere. so im sitting in the "limo" with my cousin next to me and i cant breath i was that petrified. so anyway it goes "5,4,3,2,1!" and the car stops at the tunnel entrance, i was told to keep my head straight because of the force when the ride starts so i was sitting there bolt straight when we went in to the tunnel -my eyes where closed-so we go upside down and my finger grips are sooooooo tight on the overhead protector when i open my eyes i saw the hollywood sign going up in the air as we where doing a flip. when we came off the ride i go my picture to prove to myself that i went on it and now it is one of my fave rides i went on it by myself in may 2005 but its the rush of going on it, it awesome! but i hate space mountain ive never liked that ride; i will never go on: space mountain, stitchs great escape, tower of terror or mission space, apart from them i go on all the other rides.

OH NO Imagineer!!! He's going to have to change his pants if he sees that picture

That looks WAY WORSE than it actually is. How do you know that's the track??

Thanks for the pictures. Honestly, if I saw that before I'd ridden it, I would have freaked out too. I think that looks so much worse than the ride feels. It's so smooth and there are only 2 flips that I even noticed...??

Yeah it really is smooth, its a great caoster.

There are 3 inversions - 2 roll-over loops and one corkscrew. :)

3 inversions. The ride's launch leads into the double rollover (that accounts for two). Then towards the middle of the ride, you hit a generic corkscrew.

The ride, built by Vekoma, was duplicated in Six Flags Holland (now called Walibi World) Major Disney differences? A heap load of theming and kick-a$$ sound system.

In fact, the Holland coaster, called the Xpress, has nearly the exact same track layout as R'N'RC. The Xpress' layout is a bit more spacious to compensate for a higher speed launch due to the trains being lighter without the musical hardware.

Coaster Fanatic

My girlfriend and I are coaster fanatics. RnRC is around a 5 on the scale. If you want the best ride, ask for the back seat....much smoother than the front....the back also "feels" faster than the front seat. That being said, it is the most "extreme" of Disney's coasters (though Space Mountain is the far and away best coaster in the parks).

I've long felt that Disney should open a coaster or "extreme" ride land to extend its repertoire of park types. The Incredible Hulk at USIofA is a great ride (mainly because of the take-off) as is Spiderman (also as USIofA). I think Disney could benefit with the new "don't care about the type of entertainment disney has to offer" I see in more and more people. Lots of possibilties, plus it would really help round out a 7-day ticket.

Any thoughts??

Oh yeah. I took lots of photos of EE on my Aug 24-28 Disney trip. However, as I live in NOLA, I've not been able to have much computer access to post them. I'll try soon, if other, updated photos haven't been posted.

I'll report on the trip if anyone is interested. Then again, it has been a month and may not be pertinent to soon-to-be vacationers.

I was terrified to ride RnRC. The one thing I couldn't get past was the launch...but I swallowed my fear and rode it this past May and LOVED it!!! The speed of the ride is just fast enough that you don't really notice the height and drops...so I think the motion sickness factor isn't *too* high. The corkscrew is one of my favorite parts. :)

I only felt queasy because I had so much anxiety before riding it...I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

My only advice is to take an Ipod or other MP3 player so you can listen to some decent music while on it. Aerosmith? The pain...the pain!

You dare insult my Boston boys?! I LOVE their music!! I think they are genius. They are one of the longest lasting rock groups of all time and they still rock in concert! I'm aghast at the last poster's opinion. I'm smelling a Clay Aiken fan... :lookaroun

I am definitely NOT a Clay Aiken (or any other reality show "singer") fan. But I'm equally not a fan of those who sound like cats in heat (any hair band). I think Disney could have picked a group a little less harsh. I know many like them, and that's their opinion. Personally, if I ever hear that hideous "song" from "Armageddon" again, I'm going to hurl a lung.

ahem.. me me me me me...

"I don't want to close my eyes, I don't want to fall asleep cuz I'd miss you, baby, and I don't want to miss a thing... Even when I dream of you, the sweetest dream would never do cuz I'd miss you baby, and I don't want to miss a thing" enter the violins...

:goodnevil

Tenessee hmmmm... country fan??

IMO a ride like this only works with good solid Rock Music.
Can someone imagine an "Air Supply Almost Rock'n Rollercoaster".
Catapults you from 0-15 mph in 2 minutes!

"I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you, I know you were right, believing for so long... " hmmm, no...

"Even the nights are better, now that we're here together, even the nights are better since I've found you, woah woah woah" hmmmm... no...

"Girl you're every woman in the world to me, you're my fantasy, you're my reality..." hmmm... no.

I'd have to agree. I don't think Air Supply would have made the cut.

Motion Sickness? Think Twice.

RnRC is one of my favorite rides! My daughter and I ride it again and again every time we go down.

My wife likes the ride too, but she's prone to motion sickness. When she rides, she feels sick for a while and gets a headache that lasts for hours. So she just doesn't ride anymore - it's not worth it.

So if he really wants to try the ride, ride near the front and plan on taking it easy for a while afterwards.

Good luck... let us know how it goes.

Country music would be equally evil. I'm talking good music here, and not even a specific group. I'd love it if the songs rotated between different groups of different decades, but keep it California-themed like the ride. For example, surfing music like "Wipeout," etc. I don't want slow music, but neither do I want hard rock/heavy metal. I think Disneyland did it best with the ________ (this is not a bad word, but they're bleeping it anyway...his name is a derivative of Richard) Dale music for Space Mountain. That was amazing, and it's too bad they've recently replaced it, though the "Incredibles"-style music is decent.
