Just Watched a Travel Channel documentary on Imagineering... it talked about how Imagineering likes stories through their rides but how come in the Rock and Roll Rollercoaster you never see them sing?

Just kinda think the ride just ends (love the ride by the way), would have been good if there was some sort of post show! like in Norway at epcot (even though i skip it these days), with a mock bit of the concert!

Aerosmith?
Because the story has to do with the rider (you) taking a limo ride to the concert. They perform at the concert, not on the ride to the concert.

My daughter, 14 at the time came out of RnRRC looking sort of bewildered.

I asked her what's wrong and she said " What happened to the concert?".

Isn't there a video at the end with Aerosmith playing?

The plot of the ride is their manager trying to get you to the show on time because "it's all the way across town." You then proceed to race across town and when you arrive at the venue you see that you missed most of the concert and see the band finishing up their encore.

If you listen to the announcer as you pull out of the boarding area and around the corner, you realize that the music you hear on-board is supposedly a radio broadcast *of* the band playing at the show. (They're already there by the time you get on the ride)

The music ends just as you pull up "backstage", the audience cheers and applause over the radio blends into the "live" cheers and applause at your destination, the band is taking their bows, and you're seeing them on a backstage video monitor.

Of course in my case, after my very first time riding it back in March 2005, it ended with Steven Tyler walking right behind me with his big bodyguards while I stood and stared at the merchandise in the gift shop at the end. :sohappy:

True story too (as I have posted many times in different threads). He was there with his two younger kids on vacation, same time as us. The kicker was I didn't believe it was him at the time because it just seemed TOO planned (to have the actual rocker walk out right behind you after you exit the ride). Took many reported sightings at DHS the rest of the day and finally looking it up on Aerosmith's website when we got home a week later to confirm that it was ACTUALLY the one and only. Very cool!!!

My friend tells the story of having Steven Tyler and his group in a private stretch (slow time of the day I'm guessing) on the Haunted Mansion. I guess he asked the party to "walk this way" without even thinking about it, but Tyler thought it was funny. My friend was a bit embarrassed.

Also, I would place that story as happening at some point in 2005, by the way.

Very funny...would have LOVED to see his reaction to this in person!!! I wouldn't have been embarrassed though. I would have been stoked that I got Steven Tyler to laugh! :ROFLOL:

The thing that drives me nuts about our encounter is that I didn't believe it was actually him at the time, like I said in my previous post. It seemed WAY too fake, too staged or something to me at the time. I thought it was part of the famous Disney theming I had been hearing about since it was only my first trip. Here he is, one of my favourite all-time singers from one of my favourite bands getting off a roller coaster named after his band just after me. My wife kept telling me to take a picture with him, but I was all like, "Sure, this small, old looking guy behind me is the REAL Steven Tyler...rightttttt!!! He just happens to show up to ride HIS roller coaster the same day I do...sure!!!!!" I said to her. Took CM's from a couple of the other attractions we hit up that day in DHS to get me to believe that it might have actually been him (later confirmed on their website, like I stated). :brick:
