#22/365. Driving from work to class, I took a shortcut through a slightly more fun neighborhood than usual. This spoke to me. It said shoot me. I didn't have my gun, so I shot with what I had.

#23/365. This one's political...so if you want to read any more, here's your warning. Go and click somewhere else or admire the pretty colors. It's ok.

Anyway, this is a sign left over from a protest 2 weeks ago, after an incident in Rio Piedras where students/locals and the police clashed. Even though both were wrong, the videos and photos show that the police clearly made what should have been at worst a minor arrest into a near riot.

This is at a Los Niños Estelares (Stellar Children) show at El Local in Santurce. They are one of PR's newer and frankly, better, more original, and more fun bands.

I had to whip out the high ISO, since I got there a bit late to get a better spot up front... booo, so out of about 150 shots I took, this was my favorite

After Los Niños Estelares, I hit the road and went all of 1/2 km down the road to La Respuesta to see my favorite Spanish garage band. It was a good night for music.

This evening I wanted to go to Condado to photograph the sunset on the beach. Until some jerk stole my reserved parking spot. So I decided to go two blocks south to the lagoon and have some fun.

After a few shots, I decided to take more. And more. And more.

Then I stitched them.

And I liked the result so much, I went to the original raw files and tone mapped them.

Then I made 11 stitches and tonemapped the resulting jpgs.

I'm a nerd.

Leaving from work I realized... crap! I didn't take a photo today, and then I realized, crap! I don't have a tripod.

So combine a conveniently placed planter, and a blackberry to prop the camera, and you get this.

This may be my last one of these for a while, as my main lens is having technical issues. I'm gonna lug around a Digital P&S and see how I feel. Conversely, I have a ton of photos I've taken over the past month that for some reason or another I didn't use... maybe I'll upload some of those until I take care of the issue (or it takes care of itself).

On my walk from the train station to my office, I pass by a gloriously trashed and graffitied building. I'd go in and take photos, but the smell of human waste eminating from it tell me that people live there, and I don't wanna break into their house.

This phone booth on the other hand, is completely out in the open... so yay!

The red spray says "PR Libre"... Free PR, a pro independence chant. Looks glorious enough to take a badly framed shot of it

From a hill in Villa Caparra Norte, you get this actually quite nice view of part of Caparra, San Patricio and Puerto Nuevo.

Great shots, I really think you are capturing the essence of PR and San Juan. I love this idea. One day soon, I think I will start a 365 as well.

Curious, what are your new toys on order?

A replacement 18-55 VR (I have an underwater housing that uses it), a new 50mm 1.8, and an 18-200 VR. Also, a remote for it, since I want to do some longer exposures from across the bay, and it can get extremely windy. use the remote so I can use my feet to hold down the tripod, and one hand to hold an umbrella to the side of the camera to deflect wind.

Actually.. I'm going to start a thread about that.. lol.

This delay is probably going to be a few weeks now, since once my toys arrive, I'm immediately lending out to my sister who is going to Cuba next week.

I'm going to have to do a few shots with a Point & Shoot until she returns.

Today I came across my old beat up Point & Shoot Olympus that can handle water (and not much else... it didn't survive the day). Good thing too, cause it rained like a mother. Anywho, I took a few panoramic shots today, which I may upload over the course of the week while I wait for my new toys... but in the meantime, I saw this sky on the walk back to my car, and well.. it spoke to me.

Yes, was taken yesterday. No, it's not cheating... I'm still without working photography gear, so I've said I was gonna upload outtakes. It just happened that I liked this one a lot. Maybe tomorrow I'll actually upload one of the panoramas I had intended instead ot the stuff that happened before and after

As I was walking to my car, I saw one jet-skier, and then many... making me think, &quot;Is a gang of jet-skiers at all like an aquatic biker gang?&quot;

The answer is no. Unless they were heavens devils (as opposed to Hell's Angels, since I doubt a personal watercraft powered by petroleum based fuels would at all survive on a lake of fire). You just don't look like a badass on a jet-ski. You look like you're having fun... but not like you'd be fun to hang out with at a bar.

Tonemapped. That's it. Nothing more. Gear shipped out today... FINALLY.

On the fateful day I killed a point and shoot (which after spending a few minutes baking in the oven and a few days in rice, is 100% functional), I took a few panoramas.

Here's on. The structure in the center is the PR convention center Sheraton which is presently under construction, and on the right is the PR convention center itself.

Miraculously, no security guards bothered me as I snapped away.
