Maybe after he's done butchering Yellow Submarine?

Seriously...I don't know if I can forgive him for Performance Capture Performances.

I hope this is true! I also hope that the animation will be hand drawn not computer animation.

Zemeckis said that the characters will be in 2-D.

And by getting this sequel, I think that this will also increase any possibilities of the Roger costumed character coming back to the parks for meet-and-greets again.

I read and saw the clip for this a couple months back. He did say that he had a script in the works, but that was Zemekis only. Disney hasn't said if they'd be willing to do the movie, let alone what Warner Bros. thinks about it.

During the interview, Zemekis was asked if it would be traditional or 3D animation and he was leaning more towards 3D.

There are some legalities that will need to be ironed out before this project gets into actual development.

WB has NO ownership of the RR franchise. They only licensed their characters for the film.

The property's copyright is shared between only Disney and Amblin.

He said it will be 2D, with the possible human characters being motion capture 3D.

As for the movie, I hope it doesn't happen. Roger Rabbit is one of the top 50 movies ever made, IMO, and a sequel will no doubt tarnish the legacy.

Oh dear...motion capture humans? UGH. Arent' real ones cheaper?

You don't have to pay someone to model their characters and you are probably already paying fairly big-name stars for their voices so you might as well use their bodies.

Motion capture has a distinct fakey-ness to it. Unless the animation team is going to tweek those poses (which in most cases they do), I'm not fond of this idea.

Gah, I hope not. For one thing, I think Robert Zemekis needs to take a break from motion capture movies. Second, having 2-D toon characters interact with live action actors is what made the original so special and gave it a great "how did they do that?!" effect. I'd love to see it taken a step further, especially with today's technology.

I don't understand why people say that bad sequels tarnish a great movie. The first movie is great no matter how good or bad the sequel is. I'm not going to look less favorably upon a movie because its sequel was bad.

Anyway, here are a couple articles that I found.
