Roaming around at the other resorts

We are staying at the pop century resort with our kids and one night I would like to take the wife on a romatic walk on the beach at the grand floridian. Do they allow you to roam the other resorts while staying at another. Thanx all.

Absolutely. We hit other resorts all the time as you tend to find a little resort specific merchandise at each individual resorts gift shop.

Absolutely!

Wander around, visit the gift shops and restaurants, listen to the music in the GF lobby, have a drink, etc.

What you are not allowed to do is use the pool. There are signs by the pool stating that pool use is for guests of the resort only.

The GF is amazing--you'll have a blast walking around and taking in the sights.

When are you going? If it's after everything is decorated for Christmas, and you're already going to the Grand Floridian, make sure you stop at the others on the monorail, too. Everything is just so beautiful....

I'd take the bus to MK then take the monorail. When you're ready to leave, make sure you take the monorail because we usually wait forever for a bus when we're at GF - but maybe that's just my bad luck!

I love wandering around the other resorts - checking out the gift shops, pools, paths, etc. Have fun!

The easiest way from Pop to GF is to take the bus to the T&TC, then the resort loop monorail to the GF. I believe there's a bus to Downtown Disney from every resort.

If I remember correctly when staying at the resorts they give you a parking pass. Does that allow you to to park at other resorts. The reason for my question for this is that after I'm done with the parks one night I would like to take the mrs over to the grand floridian to walk on the beach at night, just wondering if I would have a problem getting in there at night. Then afterward head over to PI. Thanx All.,

not sure if this is for all hotels, but when you get to the gate all you have to do is show your resort key card (are they the same card for all hotels?) .... if you are not staying on property, they will ask for a photo ID ....

Every year when we go we take a day to do monorail shopping. We go to each of the monorail resorts. We usually make dinner reservations at one of the restaurants (this year it's Kona) then we walk through the resorts to see if anything is new, we go shopping in all the gift shops and we usually find some things that we don't see in DTD. We love the Poly, I think it's more romantic than the GF and walk on the beach there. We ususally grab a lounge and watch the fireworks from the MK there. It's a spectacular day and I would recommend it to everyone!

Yep, you can use that to park at any resort. When you get to the security gate just tell them you would like to look around the resort and maybe shop/grab a drink or a bite to eat. You can self park or valet park.

Enjoy! I also recommend walking around the Port Orleans Riverside resort. Very romantic and very quiet!

It's easiest to do when leaving a park as opposed to going back to PC first.
When you leave a park other than the MK, just get on the GF bus and go there directly that way. From the MK, take the monorail, of course.

To get back to Pop Century take the monorail to the MK, if still open, or to EPCOT and catch the PC bus.

Have fun.

If you use your car, keep in mind the monorail resorts have a time limit for parking. They do this to discourage people from parking there all day and using the monorail to get to the parks.

We spend alot of time visiting resorts on each trip. I highly recommend walking from the Poly to the Grand Floridian along the walkway past Luau Cove or along the beach, either way is a nice relaxing walk. Also one of the best resorts to walk is Port Orleans, my wife and I love POR. There is lots of water there too which makes for a nice romantic walk. You can even do a horse and buggy ride at POR.

The other advice here on transportation has been good, but if you have a few more minutes, I recommend the boat to and from MK from the GF. It's a nice trip. Then a bus to/from PC from MK.

Be careful, the MK busses stop running an hour or two after the MK closes (true for all parks), so check the park schedule. If you're at the GF (or any other resort) very late, you may end up having to go through DTD, and it takes a bit longer. No problem unless you are in a hurry or don't have much patience with the busses.
