I'm looking for some ideas for Disney music to put on the iPod for the road trip. This includes attraction music/theme and everything. All suggestions are welcome!

I might try that, if I can find our auxiliary cord and if the rental car has an input for it. Heck, I might just burn some stuff to a CD to make sure.

I downloaded that "60 Years of Musical Magic" thing and went through and just added songs that I liked or songs from movies I liked. I also looked around for songs from rides and parks and whatnot and found a few scattered out there.

I love listening to the Main Street BGM and the Innoventions loop at work-you could burn those onto a disc. They are both pretty long and will certainly set the mood for the trip. :animwink:

I downloaded the bgm's from torrents, then you can load them through utorrent program into the iTunes program. then download them onto your ipod.

For our Disney playlist, we have a mixture of music from Disney movies (new and old), as well as music from Disney artists like Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, the High School Musical cast and others you might hear on Radio Disney. Of course, that's mostly because my kids are 9 and 4 and they like to hear the teeny bopper stuff. LOL But I admit, I was SO excited that Disney began using one of my favorite bands, OneRepublic, and their song "Good Life" for this year's promos! It makes it a little easier to enjoy the trip when you throw in a few adult, yet still kid-friendly songs that remind you of having fun on vacation. ;)

The best advice for this that anyone can give I think is that if you're not on Mousebits, get on there now! It really is the easiest way to get all of this music.

My absolute #1 recommendation for music is the Epcot entrance loop! It is essentially an overture for the park and there is so much great music there... Soarin', Golden Dream, old Living Seas music, UoE, One Little Spark, etc.

Background Music:
Epcot entrance loop
Innoventions Plaza loop
MK Main Entrance loop
Main St loop
Tomorrowland loop
Frontierland loop
Jungle Cruise queue radio loop
Muppetvision queue loop
Hollywood Blvd loop

Attraction music:
Splash Mountain
Carousel of Progress
Pirates
Mansion
Muppetvision (plus the awesome pre-show!)
Illuminations
Soarin'
Finding Nemo: The Musical
Festival of the Lion King
RnRC ;)
The Trolley Show from Main St - I don't think anything better sums up the MK so succinctly

A road trip is also an excellent time to discover a new podcast. My current favorites are:
WDWFanboys - dumb, but harmless
Tom Corless's show that I'm not supposed to link to - good recurring segments: Match Game, Back to the Future, Good Bad and the Ugly, and Top Tens
WDWRadio - Lou Mongello's; very pixie dusty but still good
Magical Definition - if you don't mind Jim Hill

We drive from Chicago, and I usually only have 1-3 hours of "Disney" music at-the-ready. I would suggest a book-on-tape if it's an over-night ride, as you'll want something that you can listen to as others sleep.

I ended up downloading the Epcot entrance loop, Now that's what I call Disney 3 cd set, the Jungle Cruise queue, and some other collection that had some good queue songs. That's a good 2 hours of stuff to listen to, that will work. I can flip between Disney and the radio.

don't know if you or anyone in your party has an iphone ( guess it would work onipad also), i have subsonic radio app downloaded free, and it streams constantly over the car stereo if u have an mp3 plugin. Just make sure you have a car charger on also , it eats up the battery quite fast w/out it.

Yeah, we couldn't find our adapters so I just went ahead and burned the music. We have the MyTouch 3g and 4g, so Android it is for us. I use Live365 on my phone.

We used to listen to the Disney tunes on the way but not so much anymore. We get an iTunes card the week before we leave, download a mess of everyone's favorites, and go with the flow on the way down. I am thinking, however, our upcoming road trip will have me knocking the dust off my Jimmy Buffet cd collection. It fits the adventure all too well...

I love the road trip down I95 that is the trip to FL. In years past I have recorded 8 tracks, cassettes, and now CD's for the trip. But lately I have just relied on my smart fone and Pandora to get me there. But one piece of recorded stuff I allways make sure I have is the song Tourist Trap by Rev. Billy C Wirtz. The first line is a booming "Welcome to Florida ! The sunshine state !" ( the rest is a compilation of just about every cliche' about traveling in FL that you have ever heard, really funny and good rockin' music as is all of the Rev's work ) I allways have it cued up in the player and start it just as we are crossing the state line. And I turn it up to eleven to make sure everyone else in the car knows where we are. It just seems to set the mood for the next few hours and cements the idea that vacation and Disney are right around the corner and the "real world" is far away. And when we get real close it's Grim Grinning Ghosts and A Pirates Life For Me.
