I think someone said it was struck.

According to this, two cars heading northbound crossed the median and hit the structure supporting the sign. At least one injury, possibly more. There are more pictures in the article too.

In my opinion, a single SUV should not be able to knock over a sign like that. But I don't know the full situation, maybe it was more, so I will refrain from further comment for now.
