RnR a bad idea for my first "real" coaster?

RnR is a fast start and 2 loops before you get over the launch. Then it's some great music and cool road signs the rest of the way in. It's fun and I'm no huge thrill seeker either.

I read through some of the "RnR or EE" post, but I have a different twist on the question? I'm not a big coaster fan, but I want to show my daughter (12) that's it's possible to overcome your fears. She loves Thunder Mountain, and I've ridden it with her and I don't enjoy it. I do enjoy Splash Mountain, mostly because the big drop is thrilling and it's over in a second or two. We both rode Space Mountain last month...she enjoyed it and I enjoyed it a little bit, but I was quite anxious in the queue. We're both too scared (so far) to try Everest.

Neither of us has ever been upside down on a coaster...that scares me a lot. It's what scares me about RnR. It's scared me every since I wimped out on the Super Loop at the county fair back in middle school. We've stood under The Hulk at Universal and we can't believe people ride that kind of thing. :)

How does RnR compare to The Hulk? I've been told RnR has zero drops, but the thrill is in the speed and the two loops and the barrell roll (two of those too?)? Is it as tall/high as the Hulk?

Am I asking for trouble if I ride RnR as my first "real" coaster?

The launch sounds and looks awesome! We walked through the single rider queue with her friend so she could ride it, and we watched several launches. And you launch right into the first loop, right? Sounds so cool and thrilling but also very scary...I just threw up a little bit. :)

Thanks!

Hi! I might be able to help cause I was in the same place you are in once :) Funny enough, apparently which started because I went on Space Mountain at an early age and it scared the crap out of me! Im 30 now, but from the age of 5-20 I didn't go on a single roller coaster. I think the key is to figure out WHAT you don't like about a coaster. For me, I don't like feeling as I am not secure. So wooden roller coasters - where you fly up out of your seat, or the more 'thrilling' of the "lap bar" coasters, scare me to pieces, as well as anything with a huge "drop". I stay away from those - and tend to go on the crazier ones, with loop after loop - backwards, super fast - whatever! As long as I have a harness on over my shoulders, I feel very safe, and am not scared! RnRC was one of the rides I went on when I first realized this - and it is one of my FAVORITES! Its super smooth, and I never feel scared when I'm on it. I think it is a GREAT first upside down roller coaster, and I think you guys might like it :) The launch is the scariest part - but its such an adrenaline rush, it makes the rest of the ride so much fun! :)
