Epcot has a theme? I thought they did away with that during their '90's "upgrading" of the park.
Right here. Pre-dating the Celebration post by about 40min.Where's your first post? The first one I see from you is June 1st, 2002, regarding Celebration... Here:
Espcially cool are the ones where Corrus...
Whatever happened to Corrus?!
I was actually fortunate to get my hands on the complete "test" soundtrack months before the show opened. It's pretty much identical to the current show and I listen to it every once in a while. It's funny to read the other posts from those who doubted the information or didn't like it one bit. I think it's a good example of a time where Disney delivered on improving a venue and show, even though a lot of us were skeptical.Okay here it goes, this is like my 2nd post, but I actually feel like I have some kind of related news to a rumor for once. So don't kill the messenger, I'm just passing on what I learned today...
It's a long story, but I was talking about Disney with a coworker today. Apparently her friend works for a Tony Award winning composer (Avenue Q) who she was told is writing music for an attraction based on Finding Nemo. Her friend was going to be taking the trip down with him to WDW to meet with Disney and take a look at the space that would be used.
Now I realize that he could simply be writing new music for Living Seas if a full Nemo overlay was going to continue there. But personally I'm not sure that you bring in a Broadway composer to write background music for an aquarium. And I find it interesting that Avenue Q was also mentioned in another post on this thread.
So take this as you wish, but I tend to believe something is on the way soon.
I think that they are in a different way. Your son is going to be raised in a different world, where technology and progression are the keys to success. Disney has no choice but to keep up with that and keep their attractions somewhat in line with the way of the world. Dark rides are great, and we will always have them and new ones in some capacity or another (Little Mermaid). However, the bigger attractions are going to be more thrill inducing, more interactive, and more technologically advanced than anything you could have imagined 20 years ago. I think that if your son wasn't seeing the most state of the art things and saw an attraction such as Horizons, he would probably put his head down and not connect to it at all.
It's funny this thread should pop up around this time. Believe it or not but RC is to be repurposed. I don't have a time line but it's among a whole mess of things planned in that general area of WDW.
Wow, this sounds interesting. "Repurposed" sounds a lot different than demolishing it, which is what I would expect at this point. Thanks for the info!

WOW, this makes me happy for the future, but will it be a ticket park?
I doubt it. Evidently Disney feels the area is too small for a ticketed park. The term "re-purposed", to me, means that it will be something TOTALLY different.
