What exactly does that mean? Everything we have heard is they it ends with the Navi storyteller animatronic.

I don't know if you have ever seen The shanghai Disney version of Pirates of the Caribbean ...early rumors were that the end of the river ride will include projection screens ....I haven't been on the boards in a while so I didn't know if anything else was discussed, or disclosed ;)

The few clips we have seen of the ride do show projection screens, so it wouldn't be surprising to also see them in the ending.

Very true, but initially they were supposed to be on the scale of the sinking ship scene in Shanghai's Pirates of the Caribbean

I think all the rumors have pointed to the ride being very intimate - so a large scale projection dome is unlikely. I would expect plenty of projection and screens in the ride though. We've already seen some. Rumors and PR have pointed towards the climax being the encounter with the Navi animatronic - which id expect to be something like the ritual seen in the movie (aka under a tree).

I hope we get something at the end that is jaw dropping and not just a cool AA talking to us. Also if that truly is the end I hope that Disney has finally learned how to keep the boat rides moving in the last scene and we don't get stuck behind 10 other boats and listen to the same 15 sec monologue over and over, this to me would absolutely kill the ride and the "intimacy" feel that their going for.

I'm sure the ride will have projections. But I doubt we'll have a scene on the scale of Shanghai Pirates's big battle scene. The size of the building and path of the water doesn't look like it allows for this, if it even makes sense ride-wise.

I think someone's words got twisted or misinterpreted at one point, because I don't believe the ride was ever "supposed to" have a comparable scene.

If they're using something like the Jungle Cruise track system where the boats are onnevted to a track below, then that shouldn't happen.

I hope no one took that seriously.

Lol. I didn't, we know it is a C ticket, but I hope you remember the rumblings of the grand finale of the ride.. like I said my man, I haven't been on the boards in a little bit so I figured I'd throw that out there. So now I guess we just settle for a singing AA , and the illumination of plastic plants Hope all is well my Friend:)

Am I missing something here? No unique ride system? 1 AA? No drops or minor thrills? No catchy song? No grand finale? I mean it looks amazing but it's sounding like it could be a bit boring with not very much repeatability factor.

Now it makes sense that it's only 4 minutes long. If it were 8 minutes, people would be jumping out of the boats.

It's too bad, there is so much potential for this ride.

If you look at the leaked blue prints, there are hints of very large screens in the river ride. The track layout isn't the same as the blue prints so the screens could very well be different, but their size gave the impression that they would be on the scale of POTCS. Though, from what I've seen and heard about the ride it seems like it wouldn't be as "in your face" as POTCS and maybe limited to one side of the river. Seems like the large screens will flesh out the ambiance, provide realistic depth behind the sets and, obviously, implement some of the more robust creatures.

On another thread, the queue was described as being just as much a part of the attraction as the actual ride. It's an exploration of the land guided by the shaman and the river ride at the end is just part of it.

The leaked blueprint shows a single large curved wall or screen. My expectation is that walls will be large screens. Basically, what we want in the use of screens in DINOSAUR will hopefully be used in this ride.

Maybe we should actually ride it first before judging missed potential?

No I think I can say that. If you told me you baked a cake with no sugar, eggs or flour I think i could make the assumption that it may not taste that great even before eating it no matter how pretty you got it to look.

The ride does look amazing and I'm sure it will be a unique experience. I'm just wondering, based on what we know, if it will have any repeat value. Without any of the factors I listed in my original post it's hard for me to believe that it won't be a little boring.

EDIT: I'm confused though. Are we all supposed to come on here and say " it looks great, I'll reserve judgement until I ride?" That would make for a fun thread.

Maybe they're baking something other than a cake.

Getting closer! It's fine to have opinions, but you made yours a declarative statement that it had "so much missed potential." That's like judging a movie experience purely from a trailer.
