Excited for Rockit to be the first (of many) future projects slated for USF. Though, I really hope some sort of cosmetic enhancement of the park is done to the entrance and remaining remnants of the "studio-themed" park.

Yes, I’m hyped too! And I agree, hope things are enhanced, and the parks improve.

I still am huffing that “maybe we’ll get a classic movie thing” for at least one of the additions with how well the tribute store and parade did this summer. Though I know deep down it won’t happen.

I'm really hoping they can find a way to make a 'Universal Movie Ride'. The "classic" IPs get a big wow/response from the parade and nighttime show.

Universal Epic Movie Ride at Animal Actors, Kung Fu Panda boat ride in DreamWorks Land, Pokemon overtakes Simpsons, etc.

Great universal movie ride is the dream, but I don’t know where it’d go really, and if universal would do it. I do know people love the classic movie stuff, and I hope universal has taken note of that too. I do think supercharged and maybe Fallon are on the way out, so hopefully with one of them we get something. Really I hope universal takes the chance and does a classic movie thing, but really, idk if they will. I think they know how much people want it tho.

I’d like to think this summer was a sort of “test run” too see interest. That’s me doing hopium probably tho. They got the rights back to ghosbusters and they’ve been all over universal lately. Maybe we have a shot with at least somebting? Not the coaster.

The Universal of a few years ago would probably laugh at the idea with them focusing on newer/relevant IPs, but I think they've realized that forcing IP for synergy reasons isn't the best way either and never truly a huge hit (Fallon*, F&F, etc.). I'd make it an omnimover-based attraction that starts off with westerns, moving on to monsters and then hit the heavy hitters (BTTF, Jaws, Kong, etc.) and maybe a modern classic or two (heck, you can now have Wicked as a scene). Doesn't have to be a 15+ minute experience, just a nice dark ride with no motion or screens.

*I like the Fallon ride, but it's pretty funny to think some executive thought it would churn merchandise or increase visits.

If I had to take a guess right now, I’d say we get something like Beijing’s Jurassic World Adventure with a different IP in the Supercharged space. As in, a physical set based SCOOP type ride.

No actual rumor or substance behind this, just seems likely with how things are shaking up.

That Fallon gift shop definitely gets a good amount of sales though, if anything it's just a great place to sell generic NBC merch but its always surprising to me how much Race Thru New York/Fallon specific stuff they have. I feel like the only reason they still have it 5+ years later is because it sells well.

Fallon actually scores pretty highly in guest satisfaction surveys. It's a solid simulator (and honestly the best of the three theater simulators in USF), but having great AC and low waits also probably contributes to that. Theme park enthusiasts dislike it much more than the general public.
We avoided it on our first family trip based on park enthusiasts’ opinions. Glad we actually tried it recently, as it was fun and well worth the 10-minute wait.

Only complaint I had was the odd aesthetic design that has the seating looking like it’s constructed from raw plywood.

It's a weird, arguably even stupid idea for an attraction, starring a very unfunny comedian, but even as a Fallon hater I must admit the attraction itself is reasonably well-executed for what it is, and there's only so much you can do with that space, so I've never understood the resounding disappointment amongst this crowd. There are certainly other, more pressing matters for Universal to tend to.

this message was originally in another thread. I moved it to the correct thread. Sorry for the trouble.
While this going to 100% venture off topic from the main nature of the post, The understanding I have for that area would be that it would allow them to finally remove the fear factor arena (something that's been off and on that they want to do that has gone as far as having permits filed.) So taking out that entire corner of the park would be more akin to a two birds, one stone situation. That being said, as of the last that I have heard, Pokémon is the front runner for Simpson's area, and Ghostbusters for MIB, but as always and 100% in the case of Fear Factor, plans can and likely will change.
I get it, if that’s what happens. I dunno how they’ll make ghostbusters work in world expo though. Still down for it, love me some GB. such a Shame to lose MIB though, ik the ip is old and pretty dead, and the ride up at replacement age for any USF ride not named ET Adventure, but still still is a shame to potentially lose it. Def could live with it for GB and Pokémon coming to USF. My one thought with this is, didn’t they just do a sort of refurb for MiB this summer tho? And don’t they have somewhat bigger fish to fry?
Wait I thought Ghostbusters was what RRR was gonna be replaced with?
Ghosts may be temporary, but family is forever. And such.
There is a chance that Ghostbusters can be in that project scope with one of the new buildings they have planned at the dead-end of New York at the public library mural, beyond that however, if they are to use the entire footprint, the leading contender appears to be a Intimin Vertical Launch coaster. https://www.intamin.com/product/vertical-launch-coaster/
Do you mean the building built in the parking lot, not connected to anything? I always assumed it’d be for matinence.
Anyway, I love any addition to my ghostbusters at USF hopium.

So, when Universal closed Jaws, they did not tell anyone on the team or the maintenance. They were still ordering parts until the day the closure was announced. Secondly, it would not be the first time that they refurbish something to close it a short time later. Poseidon's Fury was closed for 19 months for extended refurb and covid until Mar 13, 2022. From there they had two additional brief closures, Sep 12-14, 2022 and Feb 6-10, 2023 before closing on May 10th, 2023. Plus nothing stops a simple retheme.

In that corner of the park, Simpsons 100%. However as I stated, taking out that entire corner of the park would be more akin to a two birds, one stone situation.

As of now, I wrote the that specific portion, more so vague and with the notion if they are to reuse the load and current facilities of RRR. If they are to keep the load area were it's at now, that new building would likely not be attached to the coaster. We just won't really know until we see earth move, Universal announcing something, or a leak.

A lot of the hate, deservedly, comes from the abundance of screen-based attractions at the park and not this specific attraction. I think the fandom suffers from hating something at the start and never changing their opinion, no matter what.

I'm very excited to see what they do from a visual standpoint to improve Rockit's apperance. It was built with older

Ok, that makes sense, thanks! I kinda did forget about those. Although not at universal, I’m pretty sure they were ordering parts for the ROA too, and muppetvision [:(] got new seats and effects upgrades just over a year before it got a closure announcement. Thanks for all this sharing, I appreciate it. I’ll keep all
Of that and the last sentence in mind. I’m just interested to see how they make everything work out theming wise, with New York on the other side of the area, if it is truly replacing MIB. If this happens, I trust universal creative though.

I do get the “two birds one stone” thing.

Also, Martin said that the two buildings are for matinence and Load for the coaster respectively.

Lastly, I do hope at least one modern attraction themed to a “classic ip” pans out. They’ve been using them in non park stuff a lot and it seems to be sucessful, especially everything that happened this summer with the store and entertainment. Hope that caught universals attention

You’ve been very cool for sharing some of this with me here, so i appreciate it, and apologize for all the questions.
